I understand reading the patch and being like WTF, THIS AFFECTS ME SO MUCH.
In reality, the damage has not changed all that much and Blizzard has nerfed NM dungeons to the point where a 100 now is like doing a 70 pre-patch.
It doesn’t feel like it taking any more time to level than it did before, it doesn’t feel like I’ve lost any power as I can kill stuff 20 levels above me. I cleared the Capstone to go to Torment at level 55 ffs. (I Play a Rogue) and then farmed level 75 Blind Burrows to level up solo.
At first glance the patch does look intimidating but it really didn’t amount to much changes overall considering they buffed all elemental and physical damage.
Yeah they could have made some QOL adjustments we have been begging for, but that is just it… they are QOL and not NEEDED to enjoy the game. They will get around to it eventually, although I hope soon because they would be really nice.
I’ve heard so many people “BOYCOT THE SEASON! IT’S SO BAD YOU CAN’T PLAY!” I thought I’d be dying over and over but the reverse is true. I just don’t die doing any content even 15-20 levels above me and I’m having tons of fun playing with my friends.
And if you’re referring to Barb that too is completely wrong.
The class is completely fine, the “issue” is that it isn’t broken so you can’t just steamroll Uber Lilith with him.
I Don’t Understand The Whiners - It’s simple really. This game was too expensive and it needed to be perfect for that price. Nothings perfect D4 certainly is not perfect. Sooo any little thing that’s wrong and people go to the forum and flame blizzard.
They made the game too expensive and its created a very hard to please group of people.
I’m completely in your camp. I’ve been having a great time with this game and didn’t notice any real difference in game play after 1.1.0. I certainly don’t have some crazy idea that Blizzard is out to “ruin my fun”. It seems to boil down to a group of people who can’t just sit back and simply enjoy playing the game just for the enjoyment of it. They’ll always find something wrong with a game and publicly announce that they’re not going to play anymore before storming off to find another game they hate just as much.
That behavior has always baffled me. It’s like a kid playing backyard football who takes the ball and stomps all of the way home because the game didn’t go their way. Why would you ever want to be that kid?
You speak like somebody who is truly out of the loop about what blizzard is currently doing to the game…Let me guess, you haven’t gotten into wt4 on ANY character so far?
To be fair even the launch version of D4 was not in that good state a game of this IP and price tag should be.
This has to be adressed. Don’t get the personal hate on devs at all but blame the product is fine. If you like the current state of the game everything should be fine for you personally. Just play and enjoy it.
For some/ maybe many players it feels like burned money and time in already tough real life times.
The devs nerfed the game far too hard when it was already in trouble. Bad move. Then their fix is to nerf all the endgame content. And you don’t see why people are whining about that? It’s a sign of utter incompetence for one thing.
I have two characters. A rogue, working through T3 and a Druid I’m playing with friends. We’ve just finished the campaign together.
On my rogue, I have not noticed much difference at all. I’d say killing packs is a little slower but not enough that I’d take to the forums and complain.
On my druid, at level 46, it’s a slog. I’m doing dungeons for Whispers. The build is optimised, the gear is optimised for my level and yet it’s a bit of a chore. I’m nowhere near ready for Capstone though based on my performance in those dungeons. I can clear them but boss fights are basically 4 or 5 minutes of me hammering Pulverize on rotation. Spirit management is the main focus, as is ensuring my defensive skills are up. And yet, every fight feels like a war of attrition. It’s just a case of will the mob die before I run out of potions.
Yesterday, I turned up to kill Ashava and we got it down to about 70% with the players that turned up before it escaped.
This has given me the perspective that, whilst it may be OK for some players, it’s not a good situation for others.
Rogue escaped pretty much unscathed in the last patch. They’re fairly well balanced. The others have not been so lucky. So, if you don’t understand why people are unhappy, perhaps a change of viewpoint is in order?
Skip the enjoyment of progress to race to the end and if i lose must be the games fault, lol.
Because, well D3 let me win, and winning is all that is fun.
Do it for a job so hit walls or whatever want to make content good and bad about it.
Whole thing is tilted and blown out of proportion to who thinks what a good game is and isn’t.
Idk, how soft will this game get to please people, be like eating sponge cake, and my brain will turn to mush.
Maybe the game needs some balance in high levels, but i can now start a campaign and beat the barren Naked, so how long am i waiting for a challenge, until i can beat 50 CS.
The challenge of any decent not casual game, starts at level 1 and climbs on a curve.
d3 Missed this that is why you can play that game blind drunk and have a good time, lol.
But it’s full of dopamine triggers so you have a good time, and that is fair it is a good time. But it hardly requires deep thinking or player skill tests.
All classes feel the same, just big and powerful. Not true rpg game.
I don’t know about that i just tried leveling a barb and stopped. The barb is the squishiest class of them all at low levels. I swear Whirl Wind was reflecting the damage back at me lol. And please before anyone says learn to play or git guud
I have been gaming since the old MS Dos days floppy disk era lol.
Agreed OP. I’m having lots of fun. Too many here like to dwell in a cess pool of anger and resentment. They are enraged sheep. Just found a new build for my barb that is super fun. Having a blast in season 1!
