What’s wrong with getting Loot to sift through? I’d rather do that than once in a while I kill a Rare in Maps and the Monster Drops a trash Yellow and all I care about is some more Exalts or a Divine to buy something on a Trade website that takes me out of the game.
D4 gives you the Loot you need. We don’t have to Tab out to go to the Blizzard Trade site to look for a certain Legendary with Resistances, Armor and Max Life on it.

Some people like rare loot. They love grinding for hours for low drops. To each his own. I like high loot. The entire point of the game is to kill monsters and find loot. If you dont like tons of loot clogging the inventory, stop picking up everything. When you get legendaries stop picking up blues and when you get to ga stop picking up yellows. Simple.

Erm, hate to break it to you but we kind of do if min maxing at any level in the endgame. If you are looking for a piece of gear with three specifc affixes, one of which is a GA, the easiest way to obtain it is via D4 trade, Crimson market or any other third party trade site.
Same concept as the POE 2 website but not as seamless.

Good luck pushing the highest you can go in this game without trading or playing a completely broken build.
Well it’s actually , when you hit like lvl 15 - which is 20min!! You stop picking blue, and lvl…I dunno 20 -30 you stop with yellow, I still pick em for materials, but they have no other purpose. So basically in 1h of gamepley , two rarities are obsolete.
Legendaries are everywhere, collect enough obols and you have full inv of uniques soon coz obol gamebling is like PTR items giveaway nowdays…geeez.
Which is hilariously horrible, it wasnt like this in vanilla…this D3 gameplay is so shi**y.
What D3 hardfans did, was cry so much they nerfed this game from D4 to D3.5 period. Thats is IMHO why half of the players left since S0/S1. From S2 this game going downhill, for D3 fans ofc its uphill…sigh.

To each his own. IMO Vanilla D4 was a boring slog of a game that was not interesting enough for seasonal play. There is no way Id still be playing if the game was still the shape it was in S0 and S1. Low drops in a loot based seasonal game is horrible design.

My guild is Arreat Might, mostly HC mode players. Season in D4 last for like a month…
I made all chars in S6 except SB - refuse to play chars on steroids. I have work and dont play for living like streamers do. So you might call me casual gamer - few hours a day.
Every player in my guild is ofline 2 months before next season starts…reason for this is THIS super fast gameplay , leveling, drops, reskilling etc…replayability is gone.
This game is not seasonal based …thats why we have topics after 1 month into season, here on forums, like: “where are everyone” “why is game so empty” and response is usually like “players waiting for next season”
edit: aka ,gets boring super fast
I dont think people would care if there was a loot filter. Because the lack of that the people that dont want to l stop, sift through junk and trash the gear feel annoyed they “have” to. Optional loot filter fixes everything.
I think it’s a problem with the duality of the game. Diablo 4 seems like two games in one. The first is the leveling and unlocking of Torment 1. Torment 1 is where the second game starts and they are very different games.
I actually think the Torment 1+ Section is more fun as there is at least some resistance from the enemies, but, getting to that part is… such a different experience. Don’t get me wrong there is a lot of loot in Torment 1 as well, but all non Legendary or unique items are instantly auto salvaged so it’s not cluttering your screen. It actually feels better. Before Torment 1 though it’s just a non-stop deluge of pointless gear for the most part. Once the hunt for Ancestrals begin you actually sift through so much less gear it’s much nicer.
I think they just need to tone down the early game loot pinatas. Get rid of crafting mats, get rid of disenchant mats, get rid of… almost everything honestly. We don’t need it. The hunt for GA Ancestral items is not something most will see… but there is something fun about it.
I’d have to disagree just my opinion, after s1-2 I’ve yet to push for BIS again on this game, the reason being I get bored extremely fast and almost fall asleep, so far it’s about the same this season, there has been a few outliers but blizzard will probably nerf them because people already complaining they are to hard.

Ah. I’ve identified the problem: the world is a confusing place.
So in terms of what to do with loot… if you salvage it for mats, the mats can be used to alter loot you find, without resorting to 3rd party anything. This play style is called “SSF” you may have heard of it but not known what it means.
2nd, as someone pointed out above: loot showers don’t actually solve gearing issues. If it so happens you never have gearing issues, then you’re almost certainly not doing content that makes “solving gearing issues” relevant.
So in summary: you took the time to create a troll-baity thread on subjects you are ill-equipped to speak on intelligently.
I get more tired getting to 60 than I do when I’m at 60 sadly, and that is a bad thing. The process of GETTING to 60 should be fun as well and atm it’s kind of… not. It’s a bit of a chore, things just die too quickly and the few things that don’t and the brief hope of a fight is destroyed when someone at level 60 walks on screen and murders it anyway.
I don’t think forced multiplayer is the only issue but… it’s been one I notice a lot at the start of a season since everyone is playing at that time. I actually had more fun at the end of last season when I didn’t see anyone in the world and had to do it all myself.
sure you don’t understand, cuz you are probably an ultra casual dad with 30 sec for a gameplay per day.
I’m a no lifer actually. I’ve done the highest Pit since the Pit came out and doing Final End Game bosses in PoE 2. Trust me, I know all about it.
Its too much, makes anything that drops a chore to be like, “oh i guess i have to pick this up to scrap”. I barely even bother looking at the loot from 1-60 cause i know its gonna change anyways in the torment tiers. It becomes very meaningless when so much drops, i really want them to scale it waaaaaay back, same goes with gold too.
My problem with the loot barrage is the tiny amount of carry space we have… last roothold I ran required two trips back to town to sell everything. Why the hell don’t we have a Salvage/Sell option all the time? Why do we have to schlep back to town mid dungeon to get rid of 99.99% of the junk that drops?
I personally don’t like the rain of Legendaries. I think they made a mistake. Facilitating a game where 1 to 60 was already extremely easy, I don’t see why. At level 30 I was already all Legendary. At 40 all Legendaries were fine with my build , without using the code. I don’t see why so many items drop on such low difficulties.
I don’t want a hand out. Let me earn meaningful loot through challenging game play.

I shouldn’t go into a dungeon at level 30 with an empty inventory and leave with it 100% full of legendary items. It is a bit too much and it feels less interesting as a result. I’m seriously wondering if they left the PTR Droprate buff on by accident. I don’t feel like I’m earning any of these…

Some people want the game to be subjectively worse for other players just to get it where they want it, when all they have to do is have a bit more willpower to control themselves.
Too much loot? Don’t pick it all up.
Don’t want an easy option? Don’t choose it.
Don’t like OP builds? Don’t play them.
There’s some nuance here and there, but some are very specific binary choices. Example - people who don’t want easier modes in soulslikes - just don’t play them.
