I don't think i've ever had this bad luck on masterworking

Hey.

Trying to get the +hydra head on weapon seems impossible for me this season.

Must’ve spent like 20k Obducite on just main hand and still not able to hit Hydra head on the 8/12… Tho forgotten souls is far more annoyance of a material to get than obducite

Never had this bad luck on Masterworking so i never really got peoples distaste for the system…

Guess i understand it now

I spent around 150k obducite to get that tripple crit. It happens, sometime RNG favors you and somtimes it doesnt.

As someone who doesn’t trade, I hate burning through my gold the most.

I spent 25k on a shako last night trying to triple crit CDR and I never even got it to 2/3.

That i’ve pretty much given up on, if it happens it happens but i never reset a 12/12.

Tho i also don’t take anything past 8/12 unless it has a 2 crit.

Yeah, that’s a pickle, But i just get a few billion from people and that set me for the season pretty much.

Normally I leave a 2x crit but the wepon was 3ga with perfect tempers so I couldnt leave it not perfect. 10 vs 12 headed hydra is a huge jump in damage but it doesnt matter if your not living in the pit.

LOL you’re not trying hard enough. To ease the pain of disappointment, I generally get 50-75K obs and 1 bill gold before I try to triple MW. With that much I still fail. Frequently. But it succeeds more often than 10K obs and a few hundred mill gold.

But in essence, time is not an essential for this process. Other than ego, perfect MW is only need for pit pushing as most content is doable with whatever RNG gives you. I am not jonesing to be top of the nonexistent leaderboard so I leave it for close to the end of the season when I am bored and looking to do something different, so pit pushing I go.

Yeah, Tempering and MW are a very lame game mechanic. It takes away the dopamine rush from getting a good piece of gear.

After getting 5 triple crits with less than 5 rerolls, I wasted 90k+ Obducite trying to triple crit my Shroud of False Death. I had a double crit, but wanted more, and never did see even a double crit again. I am going to keep trying though, not in my nature to give up.

Id agree with you but prob for different reasons. I got a bis wepon in S4 with perfect tempers on literally the last roll. I almost fell off my chair in excitement.

S9 I got a 3ga, landed 2 perfect tempers and it was like meh. 2-3ga are not exactly rare anymore farming T4 with efficiency. It honestly is feeling to much like D3 where the loot hunt has been stripped away. Imo S9 was the cheapest experience comparing it to all other seasons. I really didnt think they could top S7 for worst season but then S9 came out.

yep it’s pretty BAD…

The entire problem with masterwork could be fixed by adding another system where you choose crits but pay way more. Say on average it takes 100k to hit triple crit on what you want on shako using current system. The fixed system would then have you pay 10k for first crit pick, then 30k, then 60k = 100k so you pay the average. Everyone wins. Gamblers can choose random method and those that want guaranteed progress choose fixed method. To choose a new method it has to be at 0 / 12.

Was just about to say the same thing. Probably spent more than 150K total, it was a huge slog (and frankly probably not worth it, lmao)

Unless your wepon is perfect or you have interest in playing boring linear pits then no, it isnt.
