Make it so that if you get within a certain distance and a red circle starts pulsing. As you get closer the circle gets smaller.
Don’t have to show me exactly where it is just let me know I’m near one!
I’d be all over it if it wasn’t “run around the whole map and squint so you might maybe sometimes see it” or “look at monitor 2 while you go one by one”.
Yeah it’s quite idiotic that the map marker appears AFTER you get it, completely assbackwards from what we WANT.
Yeah I too hate searching for needles in the haystack.
And there are over a hundred of these needles. F off devs.
I doubt many are actively searching for them, and most are using any of the numerous available maps of them. Even while using a map it’s incredibly tedious getting them all.
But hey, gotta have the typical open-world garbage tasks, because everyone loves those!
I don’t have a direct quote to give you, but my memory is that Blizzard has said that the Renown stuff will carry over to your Season characters too.
I open my map, find the same general spot as the map on Monitor 2 shows, and set a pin. Once I’m within a couple dozen yards, I can usually find it quickly enough.

But some of them, DAMN, they’re technically off the map, hidden in a mess of dead tree limbs or whatever, and I can barely catch a glimpse of the little red light in the bowl the statues holds … I would NEVER have found one like that, without mapgenie to guide me to it …
“Just google it” is the telltale sign of a terrible design choice.
I, however, actually enjoy the aspect of searching for things in a massive map, feels like a mini treasure hunt.
And yes, there are so many sites out there that have mapped every single Lilith’s altar, making it way easier than need be, and I’ve already unlocked all Lilith’s altar.
It’s one of my fave things in the game, love stumbling across these alters. I can’t see how it is terrible game design. If someone is so desperate to min max they have to cheat and find them all ASAP that’s a problem with their attitude. I’m just getting alters as and when I stumble across them and it’s great fun.
