Wandering the overworld aimlessly in search of statues that are often hidden and difficult to see isn’t my cup of tea.
Dungeons are fine, because they’re well marked on the map once you enter the area. Same with side quests. I’d probably enjoy alters more if they were some kind of ping or marker on the map when I’m getting near an alter so I at least know what areas to look in. Right now the only indication I get is that there are 10 more statues somewhere in the Fractured Peaks, which is a pretty big area.
Maybe some people like it, but for me personally, searching for alters isn’t part of the game that I enjoy.
I’m conflicted about these statues. The amount that I found without a map and the amount I needed a map to find was an incredible disparity. I’m talking like 4-5 per area out of 33ish. I feel like completionist on this should be an additional 20-30% effort. But this felt way off to me.
I found them all for Act 1 and was like, yeah… I am done with this for awhile. I plan on just systematically getting them all at some point. It’s not very fun imo.
Just use mapgenie and start on one side of the map and work towards the other. It took me roughly 2ish hours to get them all and I took my time. You only have to ever do them once, and tbh the improvements are minimal so you really dont need them. This kinda sounds like you have anxiety over completion that you are blaming a gaming company for. I might suggest talking with someone outside the forums about this, especially if you find these thoughts and urges persist not just in games.
