I don't know....items are boring without an economy

In games like Diablo 2 or POE f.e., where unlimited trading exists, finding a very valuable item becomes a really exciting moment… every time!

The moment when you find a Shaco, Ber/Jah, Mageblood, Divine Orb, etc… can’t be described in words, it’s pure excitement because you know you’ve found a worthy and iconic item.

In Diablo 4 I kinda miss this moments, even after 200 hours and having a almost BIS char…I had it @ my first unique drop and once as I found 4 uniques in one dungeon, but that was it.

I’ve found some very good rare items, close to BIS for Frost Shard Mage but the excitement wasn’t there…Same with perfect rolled legendary aspects or most of the unique after the first one, no real excitement so far after finding one.

Diablo 4 misses the best part in any ARPG…the excitment part when you find a item with value in a economy, especialy in a new released game, season or league.

A item that can be used for the own build or can be traded for someting that’s useful for your build or even your min/max goals (min/maxing takes very long, even with trading).

I mean whats even the point of a new season in Diablo 4 when there’s no economy to reset?..Leveling a $20 Battle Pass to LVL 100? ^^

I realy hope that we will get some kind of economy in Diablo 4 in future, so we will get the same excitement in Diablo 4 as we have it in D2R or POE.

And the most important: To have a reason to restart a character from LVL 1 every season becuase of a fresh season economy.

I agree, they need to introduce alot more uniques and make them tradable.

I agree, the trading is another issue.

I think it’s also just the itemization sucks.

Most uniques are bad, most the lines on gear you can roll are the same thing under specific condition to make it worse and into the same additive damage bucket.

I realy can’t point with my finger on it, but the most obvious why finding a item in D4 is not exciting is the missing trading feature and QOL like lobbys or trading platforms.

Wolcen f.e. had the same problem @ release…finding a items wasn’t that exciting there.

But I love Diablo and I will play it for sure over multiple seasons…I just hope that this feeling will become better with time over the seasons.

Let’s see how D4 devs will fix this problem, but I’m prety sure they can do it…I believe in them. :+1:

All the legendary and unique bind-to-account tags basically kill any hope of a user trade economy. Not sure why we even have a trade-interface if none of the in-demand items are even tradable.

Any type of ARPG that had longevity, had an economy and trading.
This was a huge issue and lots of people gave feedback in beta.

Without adding that into the game, with a proper platform to trade on and a TON more unique’s added to the game, D4 will die within the year.

I’m not sure why people think there’s no trade economy. Most builds run mainly legendaries. Legendaries are literally just rare items… with an aspect. Rare items… being fully tradeable

I have one unique at level 26, found it probably around level 19 and it’s a shield. I’m on a necro, so I was not excited to say the least.

I didn’t realize all the good items are bind on account. Kind of makes me wonder why we can trade at all, there isn’t going to be any market for like blue gear etc. Even in wow you can get a bind on equip and trade/sell it, I guess I just assumed this game would have at bare minimum that level of trading.

I’m on multiple trading discord channels active…it’s not the same sadly and theres everything but no economy in D4 atm.

The problem with rares is that they have a LVL requirement of the char who has found the rare…so if a LVL 100 char has found a rare it has LVL 100 requirements.

Trading in D4 is prety much non existent, compared to other games with a good trading system.

Eh I find economy just neuters the itemization. Rather than hunting for an item, I’m just searching for gold so I can buy the item. Less fun than actually looking for items to me.

That’s a legendary. Uniques don’t drop until World tier 3 around level 50. They’re much rarer… but once you get closer to level 50 you’ll find legendaries drop pretty frequently.

But there’s a big difference between “the trading economy isn’t booming” and “there is no economy at all” - and most people ITT are claiming there’s none at all, and also stating that the reasoning is because you can’t trade uniques or legendaries, when in reality rares are what would be most commonly traded and sought after even if legendaries/uniques were tradeable

Should be able to trade aspects and uniques, but not legendary items.

Would give people a reason to chase decent rares still, without the frustration of not having an affix to make that rare work with their build.

I’d really like to see some kind of trading post/auction house that is based purely around trading items obtainable in game; not gold.

At this point if shako dropped for me I would record a video where I salvage it at the blacksmith just to piss people off, rotfl.

This is why the RMAH was such an epic time in Diablo history.

The only end game Diablo 4 has going for itself is finding your next item upgrade, take that away by removing trade restrictions and Diablo 4 has nothing left.

Where were all you guys when the filthy casuals were mobbing the forums before the open beta? Too little too late guys. That train has left the station. And it was full to the brim of casuals the likes of which you have never seen before. If you said anything about open trading or haven forbid an auction house, you were teamed up on by a hoard of aggressive betas that were chanting “we want immersion” and “No trade, not even one”. It was horrifying, you all should have been there. We could have made a difference

That’s why they’ve added “smart loot” aka you only get things that are useful for you. Basically a mechanic for solo players but in a multiplayer game

See where tf were you guys. YES THE RMAH WAS THE BEST PART OF DIABLO EVER. The game died when they took it down. There is no arguing this, it is simply a fact. Blizz won’t do another RMAH because company is neudered. No balls

Trading introduces RMT which ruins the economy so no trading. Thank God
