The problem isn’t seasons, true. The problem is that D4 is boring, tedious, and time consuming, especially when leveling, making people not want to do it all over again. If it were actually a fun game then people wouldn’t be dreading the seasons.
What you’re describing isnt an ARPG. you speak for a tiny minority…
Seems you werent clear what an ARPG was before buying the game. Its probably not for you if you dont like seasons.
You want to only play on the same main for years? Consider playing an MMO. Maybe you’ll prefer that experience along with the others in the tiny minority you belong in who picked up a copy of D4 without knowing what an ARPG was beforehand.
Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous when you say it like that–which, is why I only play season as a hardcore character.
D2/D3 seasons were/are a lot more popular than ‘Eternal’.
If you don’t want to do seasons though, don’t. You can continue to play in Eternal and ignore seasons entirely.
so dont? its called the eternal realm for a reason.
They will argue that people play non-season/ladder on those games than season/ladder but EVERYTIME I check available games that just isn’t true.
“Alive”
20 charssssas
Yes alive. What other games in the genre have been alive that long?
Seasonal resets keep things fresh! Because there’s nothing more fresh than having to do all the same content again from level one!
This is the way some ARPG’s have always done it! Because saying that’s how things were done before is the best argument!
Seasons saved D3! Because barely thousands of people out of the millions who bought the game still play it for seasons!!
Can’t you see why seasonal resets are the best?!!
Anyone who can’t is clearly not smart
You can reframe it however you like. Anyone that wants to regrind the easiest sections of any given game every three months is a casual gamer.
And I’m done pretending otherwise.
You don’t even speak for yourself as you are more concerned with being validated by people who you will never meet.
I guess I just don’t consider 10k-40k players “alive” for a game. That’s pre Diablo 4.
Maybe on life support.
One is 23 years old, the other 13 what do you expect?
You guys will continue to run new players off which will improve the quality of the game over a long period of time if you don’t address the single fact that Blizzard hasn’t done anything to make the grind lucrative. POE/D2R and any game with ladders has a very established system.
It’s not that new players really WANT ladders removed, it’s the fact that they’ve just recently nerfed EXP gains to the ground, their end-game is unfleshed as it is and needs a lot of work, and people are not having fun.
If you think that adding ladders is going to suddenly make the same grind “fun” then you’re on crack.
I do. And ill choose a different spec everytime.
I genuinely cant wait for Season 1. I understand some arent looking forward to it but I am.
As a hardcore game mode player I’ve made countless barbs over the twenty some odd years. This is how the game works. It’s the journey
Then don’t play seasons? Wtf is all this crying for? Holy hell…
Is it though? What if they just went an alternative route of significance free updates that expanded on the previous end game or had alternative things to do? I feel like that would have been just as successful, maybe moreso because a lot of us don’t want to relevel characters but jumping in and enjoying new content every 6 months is something i could get behind.
You speak for no majority… If u wanna mmo go and play an mmo. Leave the grind for those who can handle.
except the only new content is in seasons. Why? Idk, because people like to suffer I guess? There is literally no reason why you couldn’t just expand the game on the eternal realm without the need to remake your character over and over and over again.
