I deeply dislike how trivialized WT2 & WT3 have become

This season is great, but the moment I made an alt with all my tempering recipes maxed out, going from WT2 to WT4 was the most boring time I’ve had in the game for a long long time, I felt like I was playing PoE one-click stuff kill everything again which is exactly what they’re moving away from for PoE 2.

If you maxed your tempering recipes on your main and make an alt, leveling to 60 on that alt is mind-numbingly boring, the capstones are pointless and no test of skill, just monsters made of paper with no impact.

Im playing hardcore I didn’t even have to worry once about dying, just click click click and think about other stuff.

Sounds like you spent more time in them than you needed to and should have just done the capstones and got to world tier 4 faster?

No the moment I could hop out I did and this is not the point I’m trying to make.

Yeah it is pretty sad.

The game needs a Balance Reborn patch. And then a Difficulty Reborn patch.

Well, probably more than one of each, after seeing how Loot Reborn turned out.

Well what was the point you were trying to make? World Tier 2 and 3 should be a deeply involved and timely process to traverse for an alt?

They’re not world tiers of difficulties anymore, the power spike that comes from tempering trivializes both difficulties until you get to WT4.

Well, if I’m playing a second seasonal character, I’d prefer moving quickly through the lower WTs. Still some tempering recipes to find if you do a different class.

OPs point was that there is no actuall relevance or point in WT2 or even WT3.
I always skip WT2 entirely. But you can’t skip WT3 if you didin’t hoard items from your 1st character already. And it is a boring mandatory gear check place.

There is for first character in a season. It gives you time to figure out the seasonal mechanics and collect materials for endgame.

For a second or subsequent seasonal character, it is a bit pointless.

How do you skip WT2 entirely? isnt’ that the one you kinda have to do to get to WT3? Or do you mean you’re running the capstone at level 1?

If its an alt just temper junk, basicly skip tier 1 to 3.hang around blood maiden for your legs,25 you can craft. 55 its all ancient gear.which if you want to can carry to level 100

It’s part of your character journey my dude. Try to enjoy it. What’s the point of making alts otherwise. You don’t start at the finish line.

Another good question is why skip WT2 and stay in WT1 when WT2 gives more XP, gold, etc? But yeah, you have to at least be in WT2 for the capstone to unlock WT3.

You completely misread what I said, I’m saying the character journey to WT4 feels trivial since your damage is through the roof from the beginning with maxed tempering recipes.

It’s not much of a journey if the obstacles you encounter are monsters made of paper.

They never were: the power spike that comes from tier-based gear made the difficulty levels obsolete from day 1, including WT4. They were different tiers of progression, not difficulty.

Tier 3 is really useless. By the time you get anywhere its time for capstone again.

The problem is that WT2 WT3 and WT4 are all basically the same.
If there were no world tiers and monsters scaled like they do and nightmare dungeons opened at level 50 and otherwise the game was basically WT4 from level 1 to level 100, no one would complain. The WT distinction is an awkward gating and in reality it creates this disjointed leveling experience where you setup your build then the game gets easy, you do the capstone and the game has a massive diffuculty spike and its hard for five levels and then the game gets easy and then you do the capstone and massive difficulty spike and then its easy again and you perfect your gear and you live in instances after that.
Its so weird. What we want is a smooth, scaling difficulty and what we get is whiplash that adds no enjoyment to the game.

If we had actual difficulty levels instead of having monster levels be the difficulty, we could set our preferred difficulty and make the overworld relevant again.

Even the capstone dungeons are pretty sad now. Not just with twinked characters - even my first HC char did the wt3->wt4 capstone at lvl 55 and I should be too scared to do it before 70.
(edited wt3->4 for pedants - you know who you are)

The need to adjust them.

This season I pretty much skipped T3.
Went to T3 capstone at lvl 50, did half a helltide in T3, too easy, and went straight into T4 at lvl 51.
