I just don’t know wha tim doing wrong. i mean ive seen dudes at 58 doing TWICE as much dmg as me (65) with rend and I have zero idea how.
ive done alot of content and have alot of affixes at my disposal but no matter how i try to do it I just get killed.
I’ve tried just essentially face tanking him, same thing, run out of potions before he dies.
I’ve tried actually running around and dodging all his abilities but I just end up doing so little dmg over time I get widdled down.
i’m at my wits end. I don’t know what to do.

Did it at 65 with a Rend Build. The most important thing is killing the Adds. I kept my Ultimate (Iron maelstrom) for the Soul Burner Spawns. An Elixier of Demon Slaying helps (or a crit elixier if you play with the Bleed Capstone). Took me a while to get him down though. Most people that killed him below 60 abused one or more of the now disabled Aspects to stack massive dmg on Whirlwind or Rend. The Last Phase was pretty spicy and i almost died…
I used Iron Skin as my Oh crap Button with the Aspect that makes it give Unstoppable, Ground Stomp to Stun the Big melee demons he spawns to stop them from Melting me instantly with their Fire Breath, Rupture for emergency Heals, Rend and Flay. You can substitute Rupture with a Shout to either tank more or deal more dmg. Or you just play all 3 Shouts and hope that Rend + Ultimate are enough
Its important that you dodge his big Fireballs that knock you back. Those deal insane dmg. Boots with 2 extra Dash charges where a lifesaver for me
Level up more if you don’t have the gear/ability to do it at lower level.
I tried it at 62 as a WW barb and got him to about 20% consistently. I ended up doing it at 63, but it took 15-20 tries total. On my last attempt I barely took any damage, I just dodged projectiles until my cooldowns were up.
I did it at 65 with rend/bleed and razorplate. Elias and his adds basically just kill themselves. EZ. Just have the challenging shout when you’re in trouble and Protector aspect for Barrier.
I mean youre tree might be fine but how about your gear? Are you staking the right stuff is the real question, everything upgraded, correct gems, hows paragon look. All of this matters.
Tried at 55 and couldn’t get past 50%. Decided to optimize my gear- upgraded everything to level 4, added sockets and gems, and reforged the worst stat on every piece of gear to a better stat.
I blew all of my mats and all of my gold, but the fight was literally face rolled after that.
People doing it at that level are using the best meta spec and gear possible. If you aren’t using one of the top builds, you’re going to struggle. I know. It happened to me and someone carried me because it was getting lately and after dying at 50%, I decided I didn’t have time for it.
I had to switch to my full Werebear tank spec on my Druid just to kill the 6 Barbarians bosses with their instant teleport one-shout shouts.
Sadly, when I got my first good Ancestral weapon in T4, I put the Shockwave aspect I had saved on the wrong thing.
So now I need to farm another.
Dunno if you managed to take him down since this post, but in case you haven’t or for anyone else getting melted by him, it might be because you’ve built for damage and no survivability.
I was getting one-shot by a single one of his little red projectiles when I met him at 65 and it was because I was basically a glass cannon. I used a fire resist elixir, swapped out some stuff on my paragon board to snag 24% fire resist node and another 10% damage reduction glyph, and took away some of my damage passives on the skill tree into more damage reduction and HP.
That did the trick. I could hits which gave me enough time to slap him around.
It was an important lesson because WT4 mobs are savage and I was getting mauled frequently so now I’ve adapted my build to include lots of fortify and damage reduction. I’m a beefy boi now.
I’m running a Walking Arsenal build: HotA, Stomp, Steel Grasp, Iron Maelstrom, Lunge, Deathblow. Using the Warbringer (has the 24% fire resist node as well as the incredibly useful ‘Fury on kill’ nodes) and Bonebreaker paragon boards and Territorial glyph.
