I bought last week a new 4K HDR monitor and while I am definitely enjoying it, for PC Gaming some recent games sadly do not run well beyond 2K resolution for my outdated hardware… So when I went to lower the screen resolution of Diablo IV I found out I simply could NOT do it at all! The only workaround I could find was to lower the screen resolution of OS Windows 11 to only then play Diablo IV at the desired recolution, which I find very ridiculous to do. It is even worse when in older Diablo games such as Diablo III and even Diablo Immortal, IMMORTAL (just a PC port of mobile version), I can adjust the resolution of the screen. But not here on Diablo IV.
And from I could search here this issue is present since the release past year, which is beyond absurd to keep existing! Therefore, let us PC Players change the screen resolution of Diablo IV from the game options!
Honestly this made no sense to me either. There’s the option of Windowed where you can actually adjust the resolution. Then there’s only the option of Windowed (Fullscreen) where it’s based off the resolution of your desktop.
Ultimately it doesn’t affect me, but I’ll always support more options within the game.
i think you can simply lower the render resolution if you want to run it lower.
I just tested here. While it technically works, effectively it does not, since the game window just gets smaller (2K resolution, 2560x1440, game window gets halved from top-left to center-ish), and when I try to put the game fullscreen windowed, it just gets the resolution to almost 4K anyway (3840x2036, more exactly).
So, no, this solution does not work. Blizzard messed it up.
Sorry I didn’t mean it as a solution, was just pointing out the only two options we had available. I was agreeing with you that it makes no sense to not have the option to adjust it any other way.
Weird. I have a problem with in game chat volume. I only use it for one friend who refuses to use discord but it’s a pain none the less. The volume in settings is set at 22. I can’t hear him so I turn it up to a higher level and save. Still cant hear him. Go back in settings and it’s back on 22. I’ve tried it a ton of times it simply will not save a higher volume. So I have to turn the games master volume down to like 8 and crank my speakers to max just to hear him. It’s a pia.
You can turn on XeSS Quality (don’t use FSR2 it’s garbage) so the game renders at 1440p but output at 4k. You will lose some performance due to conversion overhead, but it will still be better than rendering the game at native 4k.
