Was she evil, of course she was. But was she the bad guy in this story? I am not sure. Every move she made was against the primes. Her altars empower the good guys. Inarius was a twisted fallen angel. Inarius went after Lilith not the other way around. I think this story is going to only get worse for Sanctuary.

I wouldnât say Bravo to writers because it was rather vague as to what she would do.
Not giving me the whole story doesnât mean you did a great job. They literally did so little with her that I was rather sad she got killed for what seemed to be pretty much nothing or rather - WE NEED TO BE THE BLIND HERO as per usual.

It was very apparent in the first cinematic at the church what she wanted to do, lol.

She carried that through the entire story. She was the most straightforward of all the characters, tbh. She was relentless at what she wanted to do. She overtook everyone in her path and at the same time charmed players into liking her.

She also was planing to plunge Sanctuary into a 2 front war vs Heaven and Hell. Something the weakened Humanity cant handle. Demons and Angels are immortal and can send endless waves of armys at Sanctuary. Lilliths plan was flawed from the beginning.
Both are the bad Guys. Humanity has no âtrueâ allies in the Eternal Conflict. They are neutral with heaven at the best but only because they distract hell. If Lillith would have succeeded the angels would actively attack Sanctuary and thats something we cant handle. Humanity is barely able to keep the Demons at bay

Even if Lillith would have been able to Absorb Mephistos power she would just have been another Prime Evil. Diablo in D3 was only strong enough to attack Heaven directly because he had the Power of all 4 Lesser Evils and all 3 Prime Evils in the Black Soulstone. Lillith even with Mephistos powers is something the Angels can handle easily.
You are still not telling me what it is that she wanted to do⌠Just because people can be turned to do evil things doesnât mean much when you go and trust MEPHISTO of ALL THE DEAMONS⌠like didnât Mephisto screwed us over already?
It was vague, it needed much more exposition. Her tactics werenât that different from the rest of them because demons and angels are awful in general.
It would have been a better story to have Lillith prevail. You see the D4 promo⌠imagine the story swing if they made her altruistic and the better option over Mephisto.
Inarius was bad (prideful). Lillith, though daughter of Mephisto, actually wanted to truly protect her progeny (humans/Sanctuary). It would have been a nice swing.
The story was terrible. The main big bad only gets 2 cutscenes and 1 in game appearance the ENTIRE GAME? Letâs not even mention the horrible writing for basically every single other character. Yeah I TOTALLY care about Donanâs sonâŚSPOILER NOBODY CARES. What were they thinking?

They made her the baddy you cannot really turn back. Someone needs to lose their head on that chopping block of baddies.
I would have still preferred if Blizzard themselves told a complete story rather than reading quite sound theories on the forum lol.

She wanted power. She didnât give a (f) about heaven or hell. She charmed others to believing that the idea of free will amongst people was to give in to their deepest darkest desires in order to go against heaven and hell.

She did want power but it wasnât fleshed out.
I wouldnât read a book based on D4 if it would have as much story as we got in game.
Especially since I remember before killing her story went like - oh well⌠you know Lilith bad, needs to die but you know⌠we cannot be pushing you so you need to make up your mind and choose to either kill her or kill her. Even the character was a bit surprised that the choice that was made was to kill her.
Itâs just incomplete story telling and thatâs all Iâm going to say about it.
Also donât forget that it would have been much more of and interesting story to let her win as someone already mentioned in the comment on this tread.
At least we would see how they would turn it around instead it was just boring same but with less of a story behind.
It feels incomplete because it is. Blizzard announced a minimum of two expansion packs.
I get it but you said it should be considered an achievement for developers to give incomplete story where people get confused as not everyone goes - Lilith demon = bad = deserves to die with not much explanation.
They did a bad job. You were convinced otherwise. Expansions doesnât mean **** all.

Yes! She was absolutely a bad guy, lol. Technically the âgoodâ people are the ones just trying to stop all the death and carnage. And the neat thing is people wanted to side with her despite all the crazy ish she made people do, lol. Thatâs what I call great writing and kudos to the art team for the unbelievable (actually very believable) facial expressions on the characterâs faces.
If you prefer a more straight forward, this is bad guy this is good guy thing, welp I canât help you there.

Beforehand I want to say it was nice to have a conversation about it even if we see things differently.
Now to the point.
I do not call it great writing because the confusion comes from vague story which I have already said. She must have done most of those heinous things off screen because we saw very little of what it is she did. They didnât even bother to let her tell us what was the plan as to convince us to side with her at the very least so yeah.
I do disagree and no amount of paid expansion will help me forget the poor writing in the first place.
To make her the center piece of the game that is not called in her name and then do so little with her⌠shame.

Iâm debating between him and Neyrelle for worst tho, I dunno something about that voice actress that didnât jive with me.
Despite all that Lilith to me was great, whether or not people understood the ambiguity in her character or not. Voice acting and character emotions were 
She was just as the same thing that she was trying to save sanctuary and humans against: self serving angels and demons. That was her fault, but she was smart enough to realize that, and forces your character to kill her to prove your character is the best shepherd for humanity and all of sanctuary, not her, and not what she wants. Now, leading sanctuary, are the citizens of sanctuary, no demons, no angels, and we are on our own to make sure we survive. She realized we would never be free of the eternal conflict, but we could at least be free to have our own hand in the fight. Itâs now angels vs demons vs sanctuary.
I had high hopes for her character. In my opinion she fell flat. Mother of humanity and sanctuary and the first thing she does is drive people insane and murder each other.
I get shes a demon, but didnt she create sanctuary to get away from the sin war? Only to go back to hell and try to become a prime?
