Where can he spawn? I’d like to give him a go but it feels like he’s hiding D:

I’ve done a metric ton of NM and normal ones across T1-4
Random spawn in dungeons. I didn’t see him at all until I hit 60, but now I see him every 5-10 dungeon runs on all my characters.
The RNG on a lot of things can be crazy. 79 and still no butcher! Wow!
ive seen the butcher, got him down to around 2% and he one shot me.

It’s just RNG, he’s more rare than getting a random unique to drop I’d say, I’ve definitely found more uniques than I’ve had butcher encounters for example. So think about those common uniques that for some reason never drops for specifically you, it’s just like that, anything that is RNG with a low chance to happen has the potential to evade you for quite a while by dumb luck.
Wow! This game needs some well-implemented pity timers. Content shouldn’t be inaccessible due to RNG.
He will be in all kinds of cellar/dungeon settings, I do see him less in NM dungeons vs regular ones, but he can be in both.
Try typing Butcher in chat inside a dungeon. No guarantees, but I was chatting with my friend once and he asked if I had killed him and as soon as I mentioned his name in chat, he showed up. 
In my experience, he pops up after fumbling around with mechanics when trying a new spec in a nightmare dungeon when every skill is on cooldown and taking poison damage.
Just kidding. Don’t try that. His spawn is random.
That’s definitely some statistical outlier stuff.
Although, he really isn’t anything special. Just gives you a free legendary, which is probably crap like every other drop.
Same. I haven’t seen him but I’m only level 70 with a few alts 30 and on down but in my case, I haven’t done many dungeons. I don’t enjoy them so I don’t do them. Love the open world though. edit: I have done quite a few cellars though.
He can also spawn in Cellars, happened to meet him on my HC character in one, bounced out soon as I realized. My toon was all of level 15 at the time, no chance I would’ve survived. He was the only thing in the cellar though, so that’s a plus I guess?
yeah I can confirm he spawns in HC cellars, it was kinda funny my team wiped out on a legion even so we had level 2-5s jumping in cellars and I hear… FRESH MEAT and were all yelling in the mic RUN!! hahah
What item does he drop?
The Butcher I can handle. That 72 elite bug thing that chases my level 54 around Helltide is another story…
That’s pretty crazy. I think I probably saw him 20+ times before even reaching 70.
he “could” drop his mount trohy (it looks like a tiny meat cleaver) or he could drop a legendary unique weapon (he uses) or most of the time its 2 pieces of crappy white/blue gears
could* I have killed him 138 times out of 150 times and each one of those 138 times never saw those 2 “could” items, i have gotten a few legendary items that were complete trash too
the trophy I’ve gotten but not the unique weapon. Must be pretty rare.
Interestingly enough that bug is about the same level on T4 as it is in T3 for some reason .
