The hydra tooltip says “summons a 3-headed hydra. Each head deals X - Y damage.” Or something very similar to that. However, each head is only doing 1/3 to 1/4 the damage on the tooltip.
Basically it seems like the damage on the tooltip is the damage of the total hydra combined and then the damage on there is divided by the number of heads the hydra has, but that’s not what the tooltip suggests it does.
This is towards monsters of the same level so I don’t think there is any level damage decreasing happening.
Are you saying that the four headed hydra does the same damage as the three headed ones? I assume you are but I want to be sure I understand.
WTF is wrong with Blizzard and why do they hate Sorc so much.

Tbh I haven’t explicitly tested 3-headed vs 4 headed hydra to confirm that, but I have been trying to do a hydra build.
Right now my tooltip says “summon a 3 headed hydra. Each head on the hydra deals 60,000 - 80,000 damage” but before critting each head on my hydra is doing 15,000 - 20,000 damage. I have the 4 headed hydra. The tool tip makes it seem like each HEAD should be doing 60,000 - 80,000 but in reality it seems like it’s just dividing that number by the # of heads on the hydra and that’s the damage for each head.
TBH that might just be a tooltip issue… Meteor has the same problem where the tooltip says one thing but then if you go practice on a dummy the damage is much lower than the tooltip claims it should be.
I feel like someone somewhere suggested this might be an issue with all Sorc skills but I haven’t tested other skill tooltips to see if it’s true.
I’ve test the same thing with hydra and unfortuntly it does seem like the heads all split the damage, said between 30-40k but each did around 13k and would crit for like 35k. Was trying to see if hyrda damage would be viable but it just does not do enough to make it worth the effort, even with three hydras shooting 6 attacks at a time, can’t even kill the small enemies, let alone bosses
I’m glad you’re able to confirm the bug here as well, but I’m sad it’s a bug, because hydras could be fun. Hopefully they fix it soon!
Thats disappointing. Ty for the info you guys.
No, Its not a tooltip issue. Its a dmg issue but if the team fixes it like a tooltip issue im gona leave the game, for good. The endless abuse of sorc and rogue is enough.
hello, I opened a thread here Why does this Sorc build not work? before reading this one for this exact same issue, what is wrong with blizzard?
