I am in spiritborn using the recommended maxroll quill eagle spiritborn guide.
I am confident it’s not my build and yes I am using the recommended leggo and updating my gear.
Everything is an HP sponge. This is ridiculous. And this remains true at ~level 40. Not an early game thing. This hasn’t improved one bit.
stop folowing the clickbait sites from various streamers (put name here) and play the game your way! if you do that you will see that you will enjoy the game and it will not be bob sponge everywhere.

If you’re playing within your paygrade and still having issues, the only explanation I can think of is you need to get good.
Campaign is too basic for anyone to have real difficulty. It’s a joke.
Play on Normal.
It’s a breeze.
Make.
Your.
Own.
Build.
For bloodies sake. 
The problem isn’t the build.
It’s how you’re using the build.
The builds on Maxroll are going to be far better than something you can come up with, but you have to know how to use them to get their full potential.
You can’t just go out there mashing random abilities.
Even hard isn’t all that hard. Doesn’t feel any better or worse to me than how the past few seasons have started for me.

Hard is more difficult than WT2 was. I’m enjoying an actual challenge leveling.
I think ppl fail to understand that these “influencer builds” require specific gear to really work and they do a very poor job of letting most ppl know.
Like everyone else said, play it your way. You can legit respec as many times as you want. Play around with it as it will change a bit as your gain levels and what type of gear you have at the time.
Reduce the difficulty to a level appropriate to the power of your character.
