im seeing way too many posts about gold. i’ve had to go out of my way to farm gold but it’s never been an “issue”. any time you need 10-20m, you can farm it in less than 30min.

whispers give like 3-4m and its 6-7m if you get a greater cache. there are 4-6 grim favors in helltide every hour and i think something like 70% of them will straight up auto complete if you just sit on top of the blood maiden altar for 5min, and at the same time while standing in one place you get the 525 cinders (usually way more) you need to open both the living steel and mysteries chests for that section of the helltide.

you get a crazy amount of items that you can just instant sell to the vendor from helltide/chests as well as living steels which are selling for like 100-150k a piece on the d4 community discord.

the PvP zone grim favors (i think 24 hour reset) are also extremely easy especially if you get seething abomination. it’s always spawned because no one PvP’s and has an icon on the map to show where it’s patrolling. you get 5 favor instantly for killing 1 mob and you can do it in both PvP zones. 4 more favors if you do 1 event + 1 altar of extraction which takes less than 5 minutes.

and then you just go bang out the regular ones. you get around 7 favors in 5min doing the “slay monsters”, “harvest venous motes”, “find the corpse”, and other missions. most of them overlap in their objectives so it’s extremely fast. run through the dungeon grim favor that always spawns right next to those other missions in another 5min or less, and that’s like 12 favors in under 10min. there are always 4 areas you can do this and i believe they reset every hour along with helltides.

im glad they removed the cost on obducite and ingolith caches because it makes no sense to pay gold to downgrade materials, but overall id argue gold is actually very abundant in the game currently and doesn’t need further nerfs. especially once you get to the point where you’re not constantly replacing pieces of gear, there’s nothing to spend it on besides masterwork.

so there you have it. how to get 50-100m in like 2-4 hours without having to do any trading. easy gold.

Yeah, do whispers, sell items.
Simple as that.

This will not help the people that just want gold handed to them just for logging in.

I can’t believe that you needed so many words to explain a basic feature this game has since release. Thanks for explaining what whispers are I guess.

Next… someone will explain how to vendor gear lol.

That still doesnt matter at all tho since whispers suck. World Tier 5 and useful dungeons coupled with a tad bit more variety in whisper tasks would certainly help.

Instead of doing these shores I just don’t use gold at all and stop playing once I’m done just without playing high tier pits and using a lot of the masterworking features.

No big deal since even with tons of gold I wouldn’t play that much of the pit since lvling new characters is more fun than this endgame.

there are people in this forum (honestly may be the majority) who are making posts about how they had 4 mill and they spent it all without even realizing where it went, and complaining that stuff is too expensive. so yes there are definitely people who need help understanding the optimal routes, as simple as they may be.

so yea that’s where we’re at these days.

improvements can certainly be made to make the process more enjoyable and i agree with a WT5 for a number of reasons, but this post is centered around the current pressure (acknowledged with a blue post in one of the active threads) to flat out nerf the costs of things when it’s not needed.

So what you want to do is go to town, wait for a dude named Iggimancer to show up, trade him all of your rares and he’ll give you some gold for your troubles. Problem solved. Now he’s not always around, but when he is take advantage.
