As a rogue we hit weak and fast. How can we deal with barbs who are stacking thorns in PvP?
Don’t play rogue for pvp. Pvp in this game is laughable and wont be balanced
The best way I can think of is, get a group and gang bang the Barb.
I’ve done a ton of PvP and I’ve learned that if you see a barb which is same level or higher than you, in most cases you just run. You can’t stun them since they have invulnerability, they are fairly fast, have in some cases torns and have insane survivability, they will outlast you and kill you.
You basically have a 0.6 second window every 20 seconds to burst them down, which involves poison and run the F away immediately or you will be one shot, which depending on the opponent’s garbage connexion can practically be guaranteed anyway
If you don’t run poison, forget about it entirely, same with Druids
As Thor76 said, PvP is just a gigantic joke to the point that it’s insulting, if you try to be smart about it you’ll just end up with a headache and a sour taste in your mouth
Which is sad for people like me because PvP is supposed to be the real endgame
Don’t use a maxroll paragon.
Use poison imbuement
Use DR
Spec for pvp
use pvp affixes
Rogue is more than fine, it’s top dog in pvp.
With the bug pants and 4 dodge boots, oneshotting thorn barbs with max combo points (poison imbued rapid fire) is totally doable. Still you need to keep your distance and run when poison imbuement is down. Without the bug pants, I can’t think of a way to fight them.
PvP is a joke in this game, when I come across other rogues it’s just whoever gets the first poison off wins. Barbs can one shot world bosses, good luck.

With Shako, Doom, and max psn resist I dont think any rogue is getting 1 shot by poison anymore. At least not any that play PvP.

There is a cap on overpower, so Barbs aren’t doing the same one shot HOTA in PvP. Most top barbs you come across will be using some form of double swing or thorns build.

The real issue with taking on barbs during S2 is the super high life and fortify you’ll need to overcome when iron skin is active. Basically 80k total to chew through plus they can self heal quickly.
I’ve seen barbs walk through multiple stacks of FW and not even get so much as a sun burn. Barbs were strong in S1, and they have clearly cemented their position in PvP for S2.
a good tactic Ive been doing is dropping a couple Dots and then running away, which is nothing new.
Critical point is also clearing all the mobs around to stop the bard from jumping around via lunge and also to stop him from healing the dots you apply. If you can, lure them into deposit areas where there are very little mobs.
Thorns don’t reflect DoTS damage, Poison Rogue kills Thorn Barbarian easily.
yeah but you still need to hit em for DoT damage.
I didn’t mean whoever gets the first poison imbue off first wins due to it one shotting anyone for rogue Vs rogue, I mean whoever lands the first big poison TB wins. Forces the other to attempt to put heal and still kill the other player. Conceal and come back and try again if lucky.
I’ve had lots of wins, no losses actually yet, with shadow imbue, evade stun grenades, evade into shadow imbue for stealth, and break stealth grenades.
Stun grenades stun for .5 seconds, four drop at different times. Double it with break stealth + evade grenades. Break stealth grenades do over 6k damage, with +515% from explosive glyph they do over 100k each.
Somehow I can perma stun barbs, or maybe they just can’t target me due to high basic attack speed and constant evading into stealth. Poison imbue is just a bonus at this point.
Also, thorns don’t hurt me when I evade and kill barbs with grenades!
