How do you cancel the VoH Pre-release Content?? I forgot that I had set the BNet Desktop App to auto-download pre-release content. I’m just running out of storage space. I need to cancel it and get the free space back for important stuff. There’s no option to cancel the download in the BNet app. I’ve gone to Settings > Downloads > Automatic Updates and chose “Apply latest updates for recently played games” and “Never automatically apply updates”. I’m also trying to look for the folder where it can be deleted, but I couldn’t find it. I badly need the storage space back for important stuff.
I think it gets downloaded into the Diablo IV\Data\data\ folder. Or at least some of it.
However.
Not sure if you can simply delete it or not. If you were to attempt that, you would need to make sure bnet isn’t running. But from the looks of the files, I don’t see how you can selectively remove just the pending update. I mean the data folder on my system is like 131GB!
The other option, is to goto the settings for the game in the launcher, you could uninstall the high res packs. That would also free up space.
This pre-update is approx 22GB, but I’m assuming some of its files are replacing existing files. So when the upgrade is complete, it should take less overall space.
But it may be time for you to invest in a larger SSD if you are that tight on space.
Thanks for the ideas @DTMAce.
I guess I’ll have to wait until I can get a new SSD and leave the update paused for now. I still want to play the base game on hi-res while waiting, so I’ll keep the hi-res pack in the meantime.
