And the other two prime evils? Just boss mats dropped from Duriel and Andarial? That’s cool but kind of boring and expected. They really need to add Azmodan and Beliel to the boss ladder at some point but they should be more involved in the campaign as they had more voice lines than the latter two. Dur and And have always been moreso used as muscle with only 1 or 2 voice lines. Az and Bel should be in cinematics of future campaigns and be heavily involved in the campaigns.
But would you need the same boss mats for any of the 3 primes? Again, kinda boring.
What if you could only summon Mephisto once a week but the amount of loot he dropped was epic? the cost to summon being materials from various different sources. From various different activities. So after everything you go hell ya bud it’s time to summon Mephisto!
And it always feels REWARDING to do so.
Just farming boss mats from Dur and And over and over again sounds boring compared to what I’m proposing.
If you’re gonna give Prime Evils the respect of taking 3 games to kill, give them the respect of requiring more than just farming boss mats repeatedly to summon and when you do summon and kill them it is VERY rewarding.
So… more of farming boss mats that you find tedious but because you really have a thing for mephisto, this would feel different for you. Hmmmm, not so much feeling it.
Behold, I am here.
J/K, obviously. Picked my name because I have a strong affinity for Phoenician ancient culture. It’s odd that everyone keeps begging for me!
Various different sources means not just boss mats. Summoning a Prime Evil should feel like you’re doing something special because you anticipate it being very rewarding. Duriel and Andarial are just go kill some other bosses for some mats then head to either of them.
This is what I’ve read across half a dozen of your posts. Seems strange to always ask for more rewards instead of actual meaningful gameplay changes. Your ideas are bad, and I’m glad you aren’t a developer.
But hey - feel free to prove me wrong and develop your own hyper rewarding super successful game!
I don’t think you’re wrong. I just don’t have faith that current team wouldn’t also accidentally make this an interactable that they would accidentally enable for new players or some such. Very OUCH to say but truly, I have learned to set expectation VERY low here.
You just quoted me using the term rewarding. You said I don’t suggest meaningful gameplay changes I’ve posted plenty of those. If you haven’t read them you can always look them up.
The whole boss mats thing is retarded game play. Nobody likes to do Duriel 500+ times. What a snooze fest. If this is going to be seasonal content, then maybe you need to complete 100% of the battle pass (or some other lengthy objectives chain/quest line) and then you get access to Mephisto.
Oh, I know, the crybabies will be out in full force on this one, but we’re all crying about something, me included, so there is no ideal solution. Just better to move on some other game that has it all already figured out
Mephisto is one of the 4 prime evils, the character deserves more reverence than just being tacked on in a patch as a boss fight. They really screwed up VoH by not having the expansion conclude with him as the boss instead of getting incomplete mess we got.
At this point, don’t add him in because it feels like an afterthought. Wait until the next money grab… err, expansion.
Overall, I’d like to see them move away from the gameplay loop of farming mats to summon bosses. It’s not engaging game play and not a very rewarding loop.
But “feeling” rewarding is the difficult part. What feels rewarding to you isn’t universal.
Case in point, I felt more reward beating Maria in Nioh than I did beating Radagon and The Elden Beast in Elden Ring. Nothing was technically wrong with either but Maria was just tougher. Amusingly, Maria of the Clocktower is also surprisingly rewarding to me.
I have 2000 posts. If you can’t find gameplay suggestion changes in them then you’ve got me. But you don’t. I do emphasize “more” rewarding. I’ll play what I want.
