Avalon, you would know this, what direction did Neyrelle take when she headed out to sea? Also why did she suddenly take a u-turn and go south? My lore is rusty.
Maybe she needed a bigger boat. Jaws crossover incoming…
I always thought she would end up going south to get to the south section of the east continent.
They may have started going west until they were away from the shoreline but turned south at some point.
Its been a year but didnt she leave from Hawezar? In which case she couldnt have sailed west. I need to catch up on the lore again…
Well it’s a diablo game made by modern blizzard…
So about 1 week of content
And 1 week of repeating that content to find better gear and beating any bosses/pits/nmds you wanted.
Then getting bored and quitting until the next season, same as always.
There’s really nothing in the gameplay loop beyond that unless you really just enjoy mindlessly farming gear in order to mindlessly farm the same gear slightly more efficiently.
If the pvp wasn’t a joke, I’d feel more inclined to really perfect a character, but the game has to be designed from the start with pvp in mind, and D4 just wasn’t. The new “raid” thing might get a bit more eagerness to stay on the gear treadmill a bit longer, but again, it’s not really an endgame since it’s still the same exact gear, and frankly group content has been incredibly easy in all other facets (ROTA uber bosses are basically loot pinatas).
That all said, still looking forward to the game for what it is, a nice ~2 week diversion every couple of months, and something to tide me over for a month until POE2
Neyrelle’s post-campaign journey is talked about in the Book of Lorath, she’s been almost everywhere on Sanctuary, including already visiting Kurast and (unintentionally) killing people there. Now she’s coming back to Nahantu to follow Akarat’s footsteps and find the fabled Vault of Light, or Tomb of Akarat.
What textbooks would you recommend for someone wanting to get into PoE2?
Did it say anything about her going west to Lut Gholein or Kanduras?
Mechanical engineering
I’m actually going to be going into it more or less completely blind. I actually don’t even want to dig into build guides until my second character, just because I like trying to make my own thing early on. I’ll be doing the same for spiritborne in D4
But regarding POE2 info, I’m not a great person to ask, honestly…Never even played POE, for example. The most I’ve really done to prep for it is watch youtube content discussing it. At the very least the more “in depth” gameplay seems more appealing to me on paper than D4’s less robust and more ephemeral gameplay loops. I was primarily a MMO player up until recently and sort of prefer games with that kind of character investment. One of the critiques I’ve seen levied towards the d4 expansion’s “raid” is that it’s trying to turn diablo into more of an mmo like “Lost Ark”, but while most use that as a critique, I’d frankly love that. Lost Ark was honestly great game outside of the F2P-P2W power scaling and a lot of the story/aesthetics. I enjoyed the combat (class design), the pvp, and even some of the things they did with camera work and boss fight mechanics where top notch (like one early boss has you fighting in a tower spiral staircase of the tower, with the camera dynamically panning as you ascend. It just felt far less “static” than D4 does)
Hopefully the new DC content will add a longer playloop and the added skill/paragon points provide more depth to the build process. I like your approach on waiting until character 2 to look into a build guide.
