I’ve tried setting up a dual-monitor setup just for this reason. But it never works out with how small my standing desk is.
Even if there was a:
[+], [=], [-] feature on the Minmap to Zoom Out, Zoom In and Reset/Center(think MiniMaps when looking up a business on a Search) or even an ‘Enlarge’ option to get a +100-200% quick look.
Bandaid I know.
Map overlay would be nice for those who wish to use the feature.

There’s so many major issues need fixing I don’t think this is even close to the bottom of the list, if it’s on a list at all lmao
I play on HC and this hasn’t ever been an issue. Yes, it’s a concern but you learn to play around it, you gotta either open the map damn fast or teleport to default town first while keeping your eyes on the field (recommended). Opening up the map for long is very risky though.
Sounds like its an issue.
Never… so far… My barb usually can last for quite a long while without being killed by mobs. Usually I ported back to town. Marked the location and set off again. Can wasted some time, but better than being dead. 
First few days all the time on sorc. Almost never on literally any other class. That is because sorc is garbage and almost all their defenses are short cooldown gimmicks.
Barb can afk in a 150 pit. Sorc cant open map for 3 seconds in helltide.
how much gold does this cost?
1 way to fix this issue, instead of only being able to pin 1 item on a map, let us be able to mark multiple items on a map, in addition while in a city during helltide you should be able to see the chests before going into the helltide itself - potentially saving the heartache of trying to find what u need, then dying

i agree adding overlay map to diablo 4 would be a real life saver.

D4 is a live service game.
More then I could possibly keep track of. We so need an overlay map and an AH in this game it’s not even funny. But NOPE they are worried about things that don’t matter like being able to remove the text of fortify that shows up on almost no ones screens!
a few times, but i just found a new feature in settings which has an arrow on screen to guide you to your location which is a nice feature and makes it so you dont have to keep opening map, just once to pin a location

Map is not the problem, or using it for that matter, it’s obvious that monsters have a ridiculous respawn rate
And not only that, the monsters that respawn fastest and first are a group of suicider mobs as well 
for sure the overlay map could improve alot of issues, quick implimention of an overlay map would be very nice to have.
