In a world where everyone carries at least one weapon, this guy charges you for a service (Master Working…quite the misnomer there is nothing masterful about this), then messes it up, and charges you more money to reset it, only to charge you again to probably mess it up again.
How has someone not just used their messed up weapon on him by now?
It is not only immersion breaking from a commerce standpoint, it is rage inducing.
In what other world can someone “sell something broken then charge you to fix it, only to give you more broken”?
As my rage eventually subsides…I realize…“Oh he is a Blizzard employee”.
And it all makes sense.
I’ve had it with him, MW my helm with a resist affix among good affixes. My resists are maxxed.
And of course it hits that. Not once, not twice but 3 times in a row, before I get one of the others, and at this point any one of the others is acceptable.
Then MW to 8 and hits Resistance again.
And I am currently at 9/12 so imagine how many times that loop repeated.
Oh his service is more definitely dead.
But not the focus, just from an immersion point of view how do people in the town put up with this? They should have chased him away by now. Even the children in town could do better.
Toy - you mean game, right? I love gaming but my daughter is on new games several times a day. Based on ARPGs I tell her they should take longer as she orders and installs yet another and the cycle repeats…
Good one. What about the merchants? How can they afford all the trash we’re selling them and give us billions in return? And, why are they always selling unusable stuff?
Probably why the BS is forever holding their big hammer lol.
It would be great if you could murder him at the cost of a one hour penalty till they respawned.
When my friend asked me about D4, I told him a story:
I walked into a restaurant with a menu from the front reception desk. I walked to an empty table where two waiters were waiting.
I sat down and flipped through the menu to choose a dish. When I found the dish I wanted and was about to order, the first waiter immediately covered my mouth while the second waiter snatched the menu and ran into the kitchen.
A moment later, the 2nd waiter appeared with a dish that he didn’t want. Seeing that I didn’t want to eat, he gave the menu back to me to choose another dish. When I tried to order again, the first waiter immediately covered my mouth again.
The same thing happened a few times like that but I didn’t get the dish I wanted. Both waiters got angry and they said: “GET OUT!”
And that restaurant is called Tempering located on the corner of Diablo 4 and Blizzard street…
They can write “stories” about prime evils and such but I only feel true anxiety and anger while interacting with item enchanting and item tempering/master-working. I only entered into the franchise in THIS era and the villains… EVERY day are NOT the demons.
Because with all the gold he has he can pay top tier staff for personal protection, you don’t see them ofc but he has a bunch of lv300 secret service guys with 10k power level weapons hidden inside his shop
And yeah, if you wonder, he crafted those weapons himself with perfect everything and no fails
