How does Walking Arsenal Effects work?

“While all three damage bonuses are active, you gain an additional 15% [x] increased damage.”
What does it mean? i need to use all 3 weapon types and assign a skill to each of them?
What does it mean active bonuses?

thanx.

Open up your skill page (a, hit the skill button at the bottom). Different skills state that they use different weapons of your arsenal. If you use three different skills with different weapons you get a bonus for each and a big bonus for keeping all three up. This shows up as little bubbles at the top of your UI interface. You can select which weapons apply to a skill and should set it so 1 set (I use dual wield) is your basic skill, 1 set for your core, and 1 set for your secondary abilities. Your ultimate automatically activates the full bonus because it rotates through all your weapons.

The goal is to rotate through each of your weapons using different skills to keep the passive up.

Great , So if i use for example 2 handed mace with one skill and two handed axe with second and dual blades with 3rd it should work.

Yes, you get a small indicator above your exp bar to show which buffs are active. All 3 at same time gives 45% DMG buff.

It is worth noting that there are other Aspects that consider Weapon Swapping you should consider as you will be doing this naturally. Building for Overpower, maximizing HP and Fortify Health, you are guaranteeing an Overpower every 10th swap just with a Single Aspect (Amulet). This sounds like a lot until you realize one rotation which takes about 1 second is 3 swaps and IM Ultimate is 3 swaps.

Unfortunately its such a toxic gameplay using this one, since Basics can use that overpower. The aspect needs to be changed to just a Core/Weapon Mastery/Ult imo. Its really hard to watch that buff constantly.

As far as im tracking, the ultimate Iron Maelstrom will count for each weapon swap right? If so theres one ability that will auto proc your buffs

Yes but one of the buffs is almost up by time you’ve finished casting, so its mostly something keep in rotation, that and preferable that you have all 3 up before for full damage on IM.

I agree with this. The 10 weapon swaps is also pretty weird if your rotation is:

  • Leap
  • Basic
  • Core
  • Ground Stomp
  • Leap
  • Core
  • Basic
  • Core
  • Ultimate
  • Core (OP)

do i need to fill up the bubble for each one for the bonus %dmg to activate? and it so, how long would it last?

Yes each bubble is a buff they last 6 seconds, you don’t get the full bonus DMG unless all 3 are filled at all times. Honestly it’s a lot of work compared to Unconstrained.

seems so hard to get all buffs, it seems by the time i get 2 bubbles and working on the 3rd, i lose one… is this meant to be used with iron maelstrom?

Iron Maelstrom does activate them but I mean it’s not really going to keep a 6 second buff up a lot. You need to have 4 skills using 3 diff weapons imo. Basic, Core, Weapon Mastery/Leap.

i just checked it again, it looks like i don’t need to fill the bubble. it just needs to be constantly refreshed. seems like 2 secs before depletion though. seems pretty good since its 45% x multiplier on all dmg

Its 6 seconds for depletion of the bubble, each buff is 6 seconds long per the text. Sorry I thought you meant if you needed to fill it from empty and the answer was yes each skill activates it and the bubble shows the 6 second buff. Its good but its a lot of micromanaging to keep the full effect up otherwise its just a 20% buff.

would you suggest unconstrained instead? I’m currently using leap / Deathblow and double swing. Is that passive better ?

That’s a tough question. It’s all preference, Unconstrained is serious QOL with berserk duration cap and consistent damage increase if have berserk up 100%. Plus depends on what perk you run with Double Swing or Death Blow, could take Berserk on Double Swing and then Fury on Death Blow. I think Walking Aresenal is better in a lot of cases but I think I need endgame CDR on helm/amulet.

I have the berserk on DS and Fury on DB for permanent berserk. I do have to start with the Leap to activate it though. I think the only reason I was contemplating Unconstrained is the 25% stacking dmg multiplier. Thanks for the tips

Yes it’s why Unconstrained is a quality of life keystone. It lets your berserk stack to 10 seconds and boosts the DMG boost by another 25%. I think it’s very solid.

For me I sustain uptime with the following:

  1. Flay - dual wield (two single handed weapons).
  2. Cyclone - 2H slashing weapon
  3. Deathblow - 2H bludgeoning weapon

As these 3 abilities all use separate weapons and are part of my rotation, I don’t have to worry about Walking Arsenal uptime.

Walking Arsenal is not for every build, I just naturally took it because I had a Basic, Core and Mastery ability that were each using different weapons to work optimally.

Many builds won’t swap weapons at all.
