How does Non-physical work?

Hey guys, question about non-physical paragon points.

I got a paragon point that gives +5% non-physical damage. As promised, all the elements on my stat screen (fire, poison, lightning, etc) went up 5%.

However, im a cold sorcerer and got bonus cold damage from other sources. Instead of +5% cold damage this paragon point gave me around 9%.

Is there some sort of secret multiplicative benefit or is this a bug?

You’re probably using a rare node that amplifies non-physical (aka elemental) damage.

Non-physical as it pertains to a rogue, ie. imbuement, Shadow damage, poison, etc. The physical is like the arrow damage, the non-physical is the enchantment on the weapon. I’m sure you can extrapolate that to whatever other characters as well. I wouldn’t think it would apply to some sort of cast, as there isn’t a metal ball or some sort of physical item inside a cast. I could be wrong.
