How does a player deal/cope with Tempering?

For instance, I want to replace my gloves. I’ll farm for 3 or more gloves that have 2 near perfect stats. I’ll then temper each one. I might brick 1 or 2 but 1 is usually good and 1 is usually OK. I’ll then enchant my best two pairs and see if they are better than my current pair. Then I’ll start the masterworking process.

Look at this guy getting more than one decent item, let alone more than one decent item for a slot. Sell me your magic potion!
