So sounds like people will trade good rares for crafting mats or gold.
I think the OP is saying how will anyone know if you have something worth selling?
For me I think being in a Discord group and a Clan will help, but some people may not even know that is an option.

Hopefully they create an in-house system to trade, but as it stands we’ll just have to find our own trades via third party. Discord, traderie, d2jsp, etc.

This and a group finding method are imperatives which I’m surprised aren’t in the game. Hopefully later. Tho Rod Fergguson said it was a pretty good idea when he saw somebody suggest putting a title over people who are looking for groups in town.
This is very helpful. I tend to play solo so had not tried the Trading or even looked up what could/could not be traded. I knew it was going to be limited though. I see that it is.
I just wish the Gold was not something that people could trade. It will actually have value based on respec costs. I worry about RMT gold seller sites infesting the game, targeting and stealing accounts, stealing financial info from their buyers, etc. Of course, any advertising or dealing with RMT sites can get an account banned. I wish Blizzard would just avoid that all together and make gold non-tradeable.

With only 3 month-long seasons and the Eternal Realm dump, trading seems pretty pointless. At least seasonal trading seems pointless.

Or real money or use the cancer known as jsp. They should just get rid of all trading completely. Keep rmt and jsp out of our games please blizzard.
I enjoyed the trading gold. Not for the usual reasons, though. Everyone in our groups were complaining they had no money for repairs or other things. I never sell items, just deconstruct/disassemble them. I had 300k by Saturday night. So I was able to help a few players get a foothold financially. It almost felt like D3 with how easy it was to get gold. I still had plenty for myself to mess around with some respecs, gem combining and such.
I hope people see how easy it is, and they won’t have to resort to RMTs. After one week in D3 getting 7 billion gold and not being able to help others bring their characters up to where I’m at, I enjoyed helping this time around. It felt like D2 in a way, where I could drop some gold so someone could get their Merc back.
It’s a double-edged sword.
