How do you revert a character from level 50 when accidentally clicking the Fated Reliquary?

My GF was playing with me for the first time in ages, we aren’t too high a level, and seeing something in the room that she didn’t know what it did, she clicks it and is suddenly level 50! Without a confirmation pop up or anything, now she’s all distraught and doesn’t want to play anymore because there was no confirmation button on the bloody thing.
Is there a way to revert her character as she doesn’t want this boost?

You have to make another character
you were playing non season you can have a boost to 50…

Just level a new character for her, back to where she left off.

Yeah, they effed this one up.

On the other hand… “distraught”… is she? Legit “distraught” over it?

She was nearly in tears, she loved her character when she created when we first started playing and was really looking forward to levelling it with me, now she’s starting a new character and it has just left her with a bad taste in her mouth. I don’t think we’re going to be coming back to the game after we played this session. We’ll see.

While I appreciate what Blizz was trying to do, they did it poorly…like most things. This “quest” continued to be marked as the active quest no matter what I did. I finally un-deleted on old character and completed it with that one.

Frankly, i don’t see the issue of levelling the char to 50 on a blitz. You’ll eventually get there, sooner or latter, so what’s the issue?

If you are the maso type, just delete the lvl 50 char and start over again…

I think a lot of people underestimate character attachment and dont know the meaning of role play. (RPG…hello?)

I would be beyond p1ssed if that happened to my eternal necro. That is my first character in the game that I always pop back to when something new is added. Some of us actually ENJOY leveling and have no interest in skipping it. That whole skip thing should have went away after the event or been an option that you can click NO and be gone forever.

“Oh just make a new character”

Its NOT the same. You can never replicate that first character at game launch. There are people in WOW STILL playing their first character that they created 20 years ago and thats why they keep coming back. Character attachment is very important and is a cocncept that is lost with current design.

Get a power-level to her desired level and go from there.

“Just make a new character” is the only solution. It’s the only helpful thing to say, in this case… or “get over it and play from the boost”. As players, we can only help within the existing boundaries of the game.

I’m not here to counsel anyone on their emotional attachment to some pixels.

What level was she before the bump to 50?

Well that’s sad! Guess I can’t judge. Had such a rough time in another game the other day that I had a few tears. First time a game made me cry, I think.

wait…distraught being level up???

thats new

I … really hate to say this but … if your g/f is distraught over something like this, I hope she’s ready for the Real World:eyes:

You can just shove your advice… down a chimney I guess. Dedicated troll - there’s a nice swamp-colored bench for your kind. You won’t be lonely there, plenty of company.

OH Myyy , I do declare, I must of struck an unintentional nerve!

Ahh well. Have a wonderful day

Simply don’t click on it… and you’re set to go grinding to lvl 60 at snail pace…

Besides, it will only happen twice, so no more after that…

You’re definitely not the humorous type, so the pearl-clutching mocking doesn’t suit you. Your average rant is the epitome of thin-skinned victimhood. But unlike most people in your life, this stranger is pointing out when you cross over into pure, unsolicited trolling of another stranger about their personal life. Don’t be a troll to strangers with unsolicited derision of their personal lives, especially if your role on the forum has been to constantly whine about your feelings.

Unfortunately no, just get her to roll a new one and boost it to the old level, copy the skills etc and transfer the gear
