I pronounce it as “Sorceress”. Since its only an abbreviation for people that are too lazy to type out the whole word. And yes that includes myself.
A short term with complete other pronunciation as the full outspoken term is the stupidest thing i heard in a while. I can’t think of another example where this would be the case.
But in the end, it is a fantasy thing, so call it like you want. Don’t think, that there would be a grammar fantasyword police.

Some one mentioned Specification and Spec. Which in the business world, at least where I come from, we don’t say “spese” we say “speck”.

As all fellow OGs are aware, this is the only correct way. It doesn’t matter that sorc/sorceress. Saying “source” for short just sounds weird. It’s Sork.

Turns out, babies are born every year and may pick this game up sometime in their childhood. Wild 
Untrue. I have a friend that says “neck-a-ro-mancer”. He’s wrong, but that’s how he says it.
He also pronounces runes as “ru-ins”. Nah, those are two seperate things. One are symbols usually carved in stones, while the others are remnants of a razed city.
