I used to be able to make a significant amount of gold just from selling gear drops, but with the new gear drops I’m getting maybe one drop per pack of mobs. It’s not nearly enough gold to keep up with the costs of upgrading anything. It seems like a total waste of money to upgrade gear while leveling since you level extremely fast and by the time you upgrade a piece of gear, you have out-leveled it and immediately have to swap to the next piece that drops. I can sell one piece of rare gear for about 2,000 gold. Meanwhile it costs about 200,000 gold (no, that’s not a typo, it’s literally 100x as much) to buy a single piece of rare gear from the town merchant. I’m sitting pretty right now at around 36,000 gold at level 32 mostly just buying the absolute necessities (one weapon aspect and the potion upgrades). Does it ever get any better or am I in for 40 more levels of loot drought? I have never felt this poor in a Diablo season. Even treasure goblins drop next to nothing.
