I find people on Discord to group with, because apparently there are no social features, but I see people posting their Bnet ID with their #number.
It seems like the only way to message people is after I add them to my friends list? Or is there another way? If I can only whisper people after they’ve been added to my friends list, this seems like a regression from previous games rather than a progression.
It is absolutely a regression from D3.
You can talk to the (max?) 12 people in your vicinity on your shard through Local chat, which is the default when you hit enter I believe.
It’s awful, I don’t know why they had to gut chat.
This was driving me craZy. Spent a bunch of time trying to figuring out how could i dm someone when i know their battle id. Can only whisper if they are on friend list… Such a downgrade from Diablo3. It’s like Blizz forgot how to make online games.
you also cant invite someone directly
i am so sick of asking / giving battle tag when i should have been able to just /invite playername like almost all the older blizzard games…
go to your battlenet account settings, go to privacy and communication press update on the upper right, go down to private text chat, select everybody. that is how i got it to work for D4
But account steam can’t.
