I use my left hand for all mouse operations on my PC.
When gaming, and specifically with regards to Diablo IV, I map my keys as follows:
LMB : Default
RMB : Default
Skill 1 : [1]
/ [DELETE]
Skill 2 : [2]
/ [END]
Skill 3 : [3]
/ [PAGE DOWN]
Skill 4 : [4]
/ [PAGE UP]
Potion : [Q]
/ [INSERT]
Portal : [T]
/ [HOME]
Evade : [SPACE]
/ [BACKSPACE]
I use this key binding setup because it’s convenient for me with my right hand to access the skills quickly, because they are conveniently located at the right of the keyboard.
The problem I am having is that sometimes when the action gets intense (which happens regularly), and I want to press [BACKSPACE]
for evade, I’d accidentally press the [ENTER]
key, which opens the Chat Box, which in turn completely messes up my gameplay. I must deliberately press [ENTER]
again to close the Chat Window.
I have checked the Key Bindings section under Controls, but there is no setting to manually open the Chat Box.
It seems that [ENTER]
is hard coded to open the Chat Box.
This being both an Accessibility and QOL issue, it would be nice to be able to map which key opens the Chat Box, which can then be subsequently closed with a mouse click or action outside the box.
Can this be done?
