How can the devs do nothing with the game falling into the abyss

Why are they completely silent. A serious company would admit the problems and work like hell to push out fixes and patches. I hear nothing from Blizz. A simple post where they admit what needs work and a timeline etc would be nice. Or are they just watching the fall, content with the money they allready made?

What are they supposed to do? The management has messed them up so badly.
Maybe they no longer have the strength to lie for a few greedy fools?
If it were their decision they would delay the release by a few years.

they made loads of money on release already, no surprise they don’t bother. now even if future development got cut (which is likely, following in the steps of hots, wc3 reforged, overwatch, d3 etc after all) and d4 left on bare lifeline support with a more than small team… why should they bother either? all good. msft merger ahead, it will be someone else’s problem. someone got a rich bonus, that’s it, mission accomplished. customers not happy? so what. not going to touch em. in 5 or 10 yrs, no doubt someone will try and do same again, calling it a brilliant success and industry case study of how to mass trick people.

They are busy interviewing at other game companies. Some of them will undoubtedly bash Blizz as well. It’s tough to have no passion for the product, combo that with no passion for the company.

BECAUSE… when a new Season starts we’ll all forget our end-game complaints while we try to unlock our reknown again LOL and start new characters chasing a new carrot. LOL why bother fixing the now stuff when they can wave their magic wand Men in Black style and make us forget… :stuck_out_tongue: Like lemmings while millions that DO NOT post on the forums are who they cater to… remember its the new customer that has no complaints that is quick to buy Battle Passes/Cosmetics… if that new customer gets angry so what… NEXT… adds up to millions.

Back when all this micro crap started… Blizz released that Celestial Steed in WoW for $25 and made millions… it all ended for us gamers that week.

Blizzard has taken on the business model of companies like Perfect World (Neverwinter) that dont fix anything but cater all the profits around the NEW CUSTOMER. Not the established player base… they dont care about the whiners… only the NEW CUSTOMERS.

The sad truth is I personally know and understand their drive yet I still play. Shame on me. Starfield comes out next month and it will be the death of D4 for me personally and I know that will hold me until PoE2.

Remember in d3 when the devs went silent after an unpopular patch. The next post was the announcement of Reaper of Souls.

Look man you want to have the devs calling you at home for your opinions on changes go buy everything on the cash shop and as much platinum as an account can hold… then they will have you on speed dial…

Who wants to take one for the team so they fix this game??

While i absolutely expect a ā€œNext big thingā€ speech in the near future. One that tells us where the game will be in months (probably years) from now i am not really confident that the promises we will get will come true then aswell :stuck_out_tongue:

There was to much bullshi* going on - they lost my trust and i am not sure if they can win it back.

EXACTLY THIS ^^^^

LOL, nope. Quit at patch 1.1 release. Haven’t, and won’t play season 1. Certainly not playing season 2. I don’t think a mate is playing season 1, and I know he’s quitting cos the game is stuffed.

See, there’s this thing called ā€˜word of mouth’. Current word of mouth is that the game is trash, and it’s spreading far, and often. Even complete new buyers know it’s trash.

What next, D4: the arrival of the Easter bunny?

This ^^^^.

Because of horrible management. They’re already swamped with designing the seasonal stuff with gameplay stabilization changes (so that we don’t get stuck in infinite loading screens every 5min and instead it happens every 15min and so on) as it was released in a state that was ā€œtoo earlyā€ in their own words so the game isn’t finished yet. So if you release an unfinished game and a massive player unload brings out new problems they need to solve ASAP (duping, loading, stashes etc) then they’re constantly having to go through this while thinking about what to do with itemization, scaling, mechanics and so on

And that all could be worked out, but a large proportion of the devs’ time is wasted on monetization plans. Battle pass content, quarterly performance numbers and all the below waist toxic garbage trash nobody needs. These being driving forces and eating up time and resources is what tends to make issues workable until it’s too late

I’m guessing they are in damage control mode right now. Sweating in a board room with their best PR people typing up great things for them to say.

What im still shocked is after a little bit over 2 months now the Resistances are still broken… No word on when it will be fixed or what they plan on doing to resolve it. It was just acknowledged and then swept under the rug. My speculation at this point is that it won’t be fixed and will be addressed in the first expansion or season 6

Yeah not this early bud

Agree it feels disappointing. There could be mutliple reasons, the fact they are on the verge to be acquired by Microsoft wich could lead to considerable changes in the team organization could prevent them to have a clear timeline roadmap projection. Also patch/updates would probably land much faster if the game was pc only. Multiplatform games are a much slower process to update because they must usually pass through multiple constraints and validation steps on console platforms before being published.
Although that is not explaining neither is an excuse for the lack of communication.

Actually was not much later than this. They announced RoS about the same time that consoles got d3. So like a year in.

2 months and a year is quite a big time difference. We’re not getting an xpac announcement lol

They took their money and they ran. I took the L and uninstalled. Still very shocked people are still playing this garbage. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for when they finally fix this game, they’ll eventually need to top up their accounts from the simps here, and see if it’s worth my time again.

It’s ok to put the game down and kill the expectations that D4 will ever be great. Blizz owes you more for a finished product and explanation than they think they do but don’t expect one because they got their bag and it was all they ever cared for.

No game can predict how the player base will react.

I think the game is fantastic.
It just needs some polish and such , but what new release doesn’t.

Just hit 70 T4 on my main, no issues, not stress, if anything game still feels too easy at times, but its one character on build so cant judge it on that i will see how my barb goes.

Which just annoys me, cry game changes, and they leave anyway, blizz needs to ignore this going forward.

Any way once scaling per overworld and all that gets tunned it will only get better.

Yes it was a mistake ā€œtechnicallyā€ to release…but you know what i don’t game 200hrs a week so i don’t care…games do not need to cater to this, or the people that work will never finish any games in the future or see the cool stuff.

Honestly i feel the world has gone mad.

Game is enjoyable, no more or less than any other game, But it’s still a new toy, i am way behind the wall of grinding n/m 200hrs a day, i think anygame besides D3 would do that.

Which is exactly why D4 doesn’t need to do it too. Or if so do it in a mode, seasonal or something.

Dungeons are not rifts, they are like D1 levels on there own, a mini game, and should be enjoyed as such. This doesnt make them bad. If anything i want more like the capstones, levels and objectives different paths. etc, secret passageways.

N/m =rifts 2.0 no thanks.

Please dont do this dev, design something else for the Zerg rush crowd or leave it in d3.

Honestly if you prefer it, play it forever like D2 die hards do…you D3ers have nothing on those people. lol.

D2 plus the life span of D3 they played that game.

Must be a symptom of a changed world, if this came out in 2012, would have been amazing…is it streamers, YT, the internet in general. Who knows right.

But it is wild.

Remember calm deep breaths, i have my complaints and nit picks about the game.

Just also see it as playable, life is too short people…some in my life would have loved this game. And no longer are with us to see it…only months before its release…
So given that perspective this year…i am taking it for what it is and not for what it is not…

If you cant do that, that is okay too. Your opinions are still valid to yourselves as are mine.

They cannot react as quick as the feedback comes in. Season 2 is on its way out to customers right now. Season 3 started development as soon as Beta was released.
We wont see corrective action until Season 3 because thats how shipping out a product works.

Sure it seems like a logical thing to say but you can’t say that’s a true statement.
