it has been 7 days since new season, I’m 95 now, every equipment is at end game lvl. keep farming NM like 8 hours a day, got anything else but ring of mendeln. Even try to create another 2 necro and let my friend help me to farm. do I really need to reach lvl 100 to get mendeln? is there anything wrong with Diablo droo rate or it’s a bug.

Hate to break it to you but there are people who are not always aiming for the most op but most boring streamer builds out there.
Summoning Necro can be very good. Not as OP as bone necro. And you won’t oneshot Uber Lillith with it, but is can be good enough to clear dungeons way above your level. And since you won’t get better loot anyway after you reach level 60-70, it doesn’t even really matters.
And for me summon necro is the most FUN!

The summons themselves have very poor AI.
The damage is there, but they do not aggro enemies properly.
Summons also struggle with multiple on-death effects, and poisons etc.
Basically, unless the OP enjoys summon necro already, the ring will not solve problems with the build.

Got mine around 77 while running nightmare dungeon. Don’t really impress me thou since we have Barber now.
You don’t have to target or agro anything there. The summons will attack enemies targetet by your curses. That’s enough. Since every build of every class is the most effective when you have a pull ability in place which sucks the enemies in one place, the minions will damage anything in their reach. Plus there are also viable thorns builds where your minions not only inherit a lot of thorns from you but also damage them back in an aoe.
And yes i agree that one thing Blizz should definitely change in how summons work, is to make it work like they were in D3. That if they die, they re-appear on their own after a few secs. And won’t have to rely on active corpses to recast.
But even so, you have several abilities and ways to constantly have a lot of corpses around you.
Sure the summon mechanics need a lot of work as i said…but they are far less useless as many here or you believe. They can easily manage to do NM dungeons 10-15+ levels above you.
I am level 85 (on Eternal) flattening NM50+ (haven’t tried any higher though I feel I could) with a pure Summoner and no Ring of Mendlin.

You don’t need it in seson, summoner with the right setup can now actually rely on summons, without the ring.

You can not target farm unique rings or amulets. You just have to find it which is gross. It is one of the harder uniques for any class to find as it is 1 in 400,000 drop chance. Where as all the main slots like chest and helm have a 4x chance while target farmed. It is easier to find the druid items than RoM.
I have no idea why Blizzard wants people to reach max level without seeing unique enabling builds.

Minions have inherited special ed traits from gargantuan.
I finally got one at level 76 from Stockades nightmare dungeons. The below dungeons have a much better chance of acquiring the ring.

Game isn’t worth your time atm. I started off D4 wanting to play a summon necro. Sadly, they marketed Necro with summons and the summons are the worst part of the necro.
Seriously, this game is not worth the time we put into it.
If I would have seen this sooner, I would have mentioned to play BS necro as I get so many uniques that have nothing to do with my spec and have several of those rings.
Grats on your ring! Now, you should have a lot better chance to get more. At least that has been my experience.
wish i could give you one of mine. i dont even use them as i play bone. Im 84 and have 4 if them in my stash. Believe i got them all from tir 4 helltides. Never dropped from a ring chest, was all just random mob drops and events.
