Anyone try using this in their HoTa build?
I got a good roll on a Flickerstep and changed my HoTa build up a bit.
The uniques I have a Flickertep, Tibaults Will, Banished Lords Talisman, and Doombringer.
Skills: Challenging Shout, Rallying Cry, Iron Skin, Wrath of the Berserker, Bash and HoTa.
I switched Unbridled Rage for Unconstrained.
Vampiric Powers: Blood boil, Metamorphosis, Hemomancy, Prey of the Weak, and Sanguine Brace.
Seems like I am getting really good synergy with Unstoppable, attacks reduce evades cooldown on the boots, and Berserker. My Fury is usually always topped off which helps with the aspects. I was using an Andy’s before. My 100 NMD’s clears are way faster, and I usually never die and was able to stop using pots. I couldn’t find any posts on this to try and see what I should change. You really don’t need anything special to try this out if anyone is bored who liked to test builds and give me any feedback on what might make it work better. Thanks.
WA build using HoTA for Violent HoTA and Iron Maelstrom with your Flickerstep. Anticipation, Diamonds in Weapons, Ultimate Damage stacking. Use Power Kick and take as much Max Fury as possible to get over 300 Max Fury pool without Elixir of Resourcefulness. Power Kick at Max Fury means you can immediately Overpower with your HoTA after a single Kick. Take Earthstriker and OP Crit on your IM also.
Keep your Tibaults synergies to maximize damage.
Lunging - Berserk
Charge - Unstoppable/Berserk/Bleed
Iron Skin - Unstoppable
HoTA - x30% modifier/Lucky Hit applicator
Kick - Vuln/Berserk/Lucky Hit applicator
IM - Map clearing
Metamorphisis - Unstoppable
I think you max out at 290 or 300 if you have perfect rolls on all available slots, paragon, and take the +9 passive. This requires the Warbringer board, two rare rings, Selig, Ramaladni’s, Tibault’s, and Joritz or a rare hat.
HotA builds should be around 230-240 or so.
Wait, how does ramaldani benefit hota?
It doesn’t, that’s what I’m saying. You also shouldn’t be using two rare rings or a rare hat. Joritz until Shako, which means you lose up to 20 max fury when you get your BiS hat, and you won’t get +30 unless you’re using Selig.
Ultimately, I’m saying 290-300 is the absolute max before an elixir, but you can’t do that with the ideal HotA setup. 230-ish (with Selig, Shako, Furor, and Tibault’s) is where you should be with HotA without the +50 elixir, 220-ish with Joritz and Banished, and 200-ish with Shako and Banished.
Question: Does Earthquake and DoTs resets Evade on Flickerstep?
This wouldn’t be HoTA as a Primary but to support IM spam and massive Kick nukes. Flickerstep is better than TacticalGS/100,000 steps for IM cd.
Changes his whole build, not the boots. Either way, he won’t be able to get over 300 fury. Especially if he uses Banished, Shako, or Furor. It’s impossible.
Doesn’t flicker wreck your resistances? I considered it but didn’t want to fight with having to change everything around to get any resists going.
I’d imagine so. I typically dedicate boots to resists. 2 rolls at the very least, preferably 3.
With the helm I have 3 resistance rolls and an armor roll, which almost caps me out, if I use a soothing spice then I would be 71% capped. I have another with 3 max resistance rolls which caps me out but no extra armor roll.
You really only need three resistance affixes from gear. Then have RNG blessings for the rings to have totally different element than those from the affixes. Just gem in the remanining element missing.
I took a paragon for fire res/100 armor to cap out res on my new build. I get to put a skull in one of my sockets and have over 10k armor before Disobedience.
I actually like this build better than HotA. We’ll see today if it’s superior in AoZ!
You know, I honestly can’t tell if armor is better or health is better now that I have Doombringer. For paragon nodes at least, not affixes.
All about balance, my dude.
My attack power is 79k in town with a level 1 Tears. Lol! I have a feeling I’m going to end up making a very defensive paragon when I hit the higher tiers. I think that’s the whole idea from Blizz with the outrageous multiplier.
Ran a Blood Tier 1 on my Sorcerer in Seasonal. Getting OHKO by everything in the map. I can kill everything just can’t get hit myself. Never liked the glass cannon builds, but gonna look for gear on my Seasonal character that I haven’t touch since two weeks after Season 2 started.
I’m up to tier 5. Haven’t pushed or played much. I’m about to have a few hours to give it a go. My build is holding strong AF so far. Love it.
I have about 100% uptime with Berserk from Wrath of the Berserker and the blood rage node with that bleed aspect, so I think Bash is better, not sure if I am missing something else about Lunging that would help. I tried Iron Maelstrom and it was really bad because of the lack of Berserk which is what makes the build work for me. WotB and Metamorphasis give about 100% uptime for Berserk and Unstoppable, with Prey of the Weak also making everything vulnerable. I don’t think I would be able to get my Fury high enough to make Kick work for an instant overpower.
So far I am at Zir tier 10 almost cleared it but ran out of time just before killing the bosses that spawn at the end a few times. I think it is doing pretty well for no grandfather or shako. I think I need to redo my pacts but not sure what would be best, I added X’FAL with my Furor ring and went all defense on my skill tree, and thanks for the advice.
If you have the 14k-ish Armor with Disobedience, Health is the way to go. Once you hit certain DR milestones Health becomes increasingly powerful and the best for EHP.
Armor is one of those things like Elemental Resists that once you hit the cap, it has zero benefit past that point. It depends on the level of content you are facing whereas Elemental Resists stop mattering as soon as you hit the soft cap (baring you have something that increases the max resist). IMO - Blizzard needs to figure out how to have stats like Armor, Barrier Regeneration, and Elemental Resists provide diminishing returns benefits past their cap so any overage isn’t wasted.
The 85% cap always says it is for enemies your own level, which made me wonder if that mobs are higher level in AoZ (I have not done one yet) do we need higher armor to hit the cap?
