It would be funny if Blizzard just drops the expansion on the table and laughs, but it’s not happening. I wish it would happen, but I don’t think so.

Yeah, that’s not how Blizzard has ever worked and they would get a ton less sales
I’d be curious to see this happen just to look at how it affects PoE2 numbers. I honestly don’t think it’d do much. Which is sad. But maybe I’m wrong.
Who cares? It’s not like it is going to improve the game at all. Please.
As soon as AI can help me make my version of an ARPG, I’m doing it.

The sad part is that using AI, you would probably be able to come up a more interesting and engaging and creative game than DIV is.

Remember how we a got teaser of a teaser for VoH? Yeah expect something like that.
Yeah, I mean people rip on AI, but you still need creativity and deep vision to make an interesting game. I just suck at programming. AI will help a lot on that end. The future is bright for indie gaming and breaking away from AAA monopolies in high end games.
That last time they did an odd patch schedule we did get the pre order the expansion and a free pet. That happened on a Sunday afternoon as I recall.

It’s more likely there is going to be a class DLC, than the expac it self. But even by now, even that seems to be a huge reach. It’s going to be a nothing burger wraped in hype. Like a free cosmetics bundle or something. I won’t get my hopes up for anything significant comeing.

You make a reasonable case, but I’m not buying it.
What I can buy, is the point someone posted on another thread. That there is something in S11 Seasonal Quest that all but reveals the Paladin is coming. Then it would make sense to hold off and only release after they actually reveal the class.
Just delaying to align with China release makes no sense as they are different servers, and if anything would be harder to manage if anything didn’t go smoothly.
It also doesn’t make much sense to just delay for the GA.
This is a very weird move by Blizzard either way. I think it’s extremely wishful thinking. But hey, wishes sometimes come true.

We thought they were going to announce Diablo 4 at Blizzcon, and we got Diablo Immoral and memes instead.
I don’t think they’re coordinated enough to sneak in an expansion like they’re David Blaine or Jerry Springer.
FWIW, that was my initial theory, it felt like the most logical reason underpinning the bizarre marketing campaign for the second expansion to date, Rod Ferguson mentioning that a second expansion was coming once in passing, that it would be released later than October 2025, and then, literally nothing, complete silence. It seemed to me like the second expansion had quietly received the “rise of the necromancer” treatment and the internal build leak being called “2.5.0 Paladin” meant they were just going to shadow drop the new class as part of season 11.
But in response to a Bluesky post of mine in October I think, where I set out that theory, that the expansion had been cancelled and the paladin shadow dropped at the TGA’s, Adam Fletcher responded confirming that the expansion is still coming.
I mean they could be releasing the expansion for preorder and allowing early access for the class with at least the Deluxe preorder knowing Blizzard (spend at least $70 and get it now!). The entire premise of S11 seems to be built around angels and divine powers helping to stave off the growing hellish incursion.

But they wouldn’t do that without the expansion content to support it. You have to have the whole class quest line and areas to quest in, which is typically brand new zones, npcs, etc.. Has blizzard ever released a class ahead of time like that? I can’t think of a single one. Alternate races for wow, sure, they’re usually already in the game the expansion before it in some manner and there’s almost zero connection between unlocking them and what you do in game.
Something is dropping, but it isn’t that!

Yes this is true, but Blizz has done wacky things before and have been trying all kinds of new ideas with all of their games to boost interest. I would not be surprised if it happened at all, but definitely excited.
Also if it did happen I can already see the complaint threads about it lol.
