Horses being as late as they are into the game is a design flaw

Why would you tease them in the beta, and add them as a pre-order bonus, when you can’t touch them until act 4?? You are riding a horse on the intro, you end up at a stable in the tutorial. It’s bad design to offer mounts, and then tease them behind three acts of pure walking sim.

It’s Blizzards idea of getting you to want to play the game through. Instead of making the game exciting and fun to play, tease a horse you get at the end of the campaign.

Once you unlock them exactly once you’re good to go on all alts, at least

Agreed…just way too much walking around.

Yeah, I bought the game, I want to play it my way. Arbitrary walls in a game that has free exploration is bad.

Good chance that we wont be walking around for months if not longer depending on how seasons are handled. Ill push through. It does make the world feel large.

In all fairness, it’s really my only complaint. It’s a very fun experience, but this is just… silly.

It is only for the first play through.
All future play throughs you get horses.

The problem is actually going to end up being seasonal content.
They have not announced if there will be horse unlocked for seasons.

Yeah its been brought up in our discord from time to time. I will say waypoint fast travel being modernized is nice.

My “only complaint” is that the minimap sucks. If I could zoom out, I wouldnt constantly be opening the map or following pins like im playing Crazy Taxi

Oh yeah, I forgot they do fresh restarts on seasons. This adds a whole new layer of frustration.

Honestly, the horses are not as much of a help as you might think. i didn’t realize just how clunky and annoying they were to use until I got one. Aside from some of the wide open spaces (which aren’t as common as you’d think) a lot of the times it’s easier to just get around on foot.

It is fun to play. And if you’re not having fun, why are you literally playing the game? Aren’t games meant to be played for entertainment :woman_facepalming: Or are you seriously out here forcing yourself to grind a game you’re not enjoying

Exactly this because I’m still trying to see if it’s going to be fun. I spent money on it, can’t get a refund, it’s digital so can’t make it a book end.

once you get it doesnt matterr anymore.
whats more annoying is the 10s cooldown.
why? because i cant runaway from the weak and boring openworld enemies?

Welp, there’s been a few free beta tests previously, and you had time to see if you liked it or not, but you preordered it anyway. If you’re not enjoying the game without a horse, you’re not going to enjoy it with one.

That being said, once you get legendaries, and level up, a lot of builds become more fluid. But I don’t think unlocking the horse is going to fix your enjoyment. But that’s just me.

The only reason horses exists it to sell cosmetics.

99.9% sure it is, you don’t do the campaign again for seasons unless you want, so how would you get the horse?

Honestly, I have to agree.

They could have bumped the horse up much earlier in the campaign. Maybe at the end of Act 1 at the latest.

You will do plenty of running on foot every time you do a dungeon as well as other parts of the zones that don’t allow mounting (act 6 so far).

Im thinking in 3 options for this:

  • Bad game design decision
  • Lack of basic sense
  • No one with a brain in the dev team

Probably the 3 options…

This… So this. It’s just hallways with outdoor textures. Have to constantly look at the world map to see what corridor I have to turn, only to start taking damage because there’s no solo game session allowed even though I exclusively played D3 alone. Well, guess I have to use the larger map overlay like in D3 and D2 so I can still defend and attack…oh wait…

yeah.

At least give me a gps to my waypoint with a shortest path algorithm like in pretty much all modern open world games. Zoom out the minimap?

It’s all hallways.
