In the time it takes to do one horde 8, you or a group could do like 3 horde 7’s.
And it’s not about how hard it is, it’s about how much time it takes to clear. Horde 8 needs better rewards to be worth it over horde 7. 30 neathiron vs 25 doesn’t cut it. Give us a chance at mythics from 8, maybe resplendants, boss summon mats. Anything to make such a slog worth it. It’s only for bragging rights as is.
Getting 1 random boss mat per NNN mobs killed / aether earned would be a nice bonus to T8.
But suspect they are holding on to extra goodness for T9-T10 release in a few weeks.
So what you’re saying is Horde Tier 8 is the equivalent to anything beyond Pit Tier 61. Sounds about right.
the boss takes a little longer in t8. my scores arent as high as T7 thou. Usually. Get more stuff per chest in T8, but more chests in T7. I guess the question is: how lazy do I want to be? Right now? T7 sounds fine lol
why does it take you so long to clear a horde 8? its only 1 more wave.
If you get 1000 aether then that’s like 500 more neath.
I can Clear Pit 100 as fast as Tier 7 due the bosses having some ridiculous health pools in the Hordes.
if i can’t clear this because i chose to play a summoner (I can barely manage a T8 now) I will instantly quit the league. I have 1-2 GA in every slot 12/12 masterworking and tripple crit upgrades on 2 items, rest are all double crits on key stats.
My level of gear regardless of if im not playing a meta build needs to be able to clear all content. Afterall its not like I have just started the game and am randomly using items and aspects…
Were you able to clear GR150 every season in D3 without Meta build ?
Were you able to kill Uber boss in D2 with every build ?
Same goes for D4. Some people are doing Pit 150 and will clear Horde 10.
You can’t ? That’s not an design issue. Maybe next season your build will be meta. (Witch Doctor is waiting to be meta since 5 years thus)
I have no doubt, but the point still stands, anything beyond 61 in the pit is just for bragging rights, just as Horde Tier 8.

I have 2 100 rogues. nothing wrong with either of them. barb? cant go higher than t6 without the boss fights becoming jokes. sorc thou? highly recommend lightning spear to everyone. Even necro players 
was planning on making a druid with the xp event. they are the only class that can come close to sorc this season.
so i never really played D3, i killed ubers and dclone solo with my summonmancer, used Urdars for CB.

I tried an 8 on my sickly little barb and stopped after wave 6 with only 50 aether. Just wasn’t worth the effort for me.

You are playing Barb. That’s about as far as you can go, which this board seems to think is totally fine and balanced.
I do think the power level barbs have right now is around where all classes should be. They feel powerful but not overpowered. Content should be adjusted around that level. But I feel I am in the minority on that opinion.
There we have it… It’s not they couldn’t do it, it’s that it wasn’t worth it.
I feel the same way on my build that is not the build of the patch, FO/LS sorc. It’s okay that your class doesn’t have the build of the patch this season. Get over it. It’s kind of fun to have to try at what you’re doing.
Yea. The one thing barbs still have is tankiness. I have a 75k HP and an absolute ton of DR. So killing me is hard but as I got through the waves I was thinking it’s going to take me 30 mins to kill the bosses and at that point I just said no thanks. My bash crits for 100m with 200-300million overpowers so it’s not like I’m not doing damage. Just not enough for this content. I could probably get more damage if I got a starless skies but not enough to make up the difference.
300 million on overpowered crits is nothing compared to Sorcs constantly criting for Billions, to the entire screen all at once, fyi.
And I felt the same way on my cut throat rogue build, but I closed it out anyway so I could claim I did it. Barbs do not have it worse, they are in line. This is how the game is when you are not on the cracked spec of the patch.
Learn from it, appreciate it, give constructive feedback. But please barb mains, stop whining and pretending you’re being persecuted with nerfs. It’s not that your favorite class/build should be on par with the outlier spec, it’s that the outlier spec shouldn’t be a thing.
