I don’t know what the developers have planned, but I hope they expand upon the treasure goblin further in D4. It has so much potential. In D3, they had multiple treasure goblins in a single location. They also had multiple color types that dropped different types of loot. That could be another way of obtaining materials, rare items, cosmetics or mounts, etc. I remember the blue goblins, when killed, would spawn smaller blue goblins that would run around in different directions making them harder to clean up, so to speak. And finally, D3 had treasure goblins that opened a portal to the magical place of Whimsyshire. That was a fun diversion and introduced another monster “type” into gameplay. They could also have it open a portal to the Vault directly, which was a fun “level” for farming gold and other mats in D3. I’m hoping they bring that into D4 to make chasing treasure goblins around more rewarding and exciting. They feel a bit lackluster in their current iteration other than knowing you’ll get a legendary out of it, but in the current endgame it’ll likely just be salvaged anyway. Treasure goblins were much more fun to hunt down in D3.
