Hope DEVS see this.. Game needs to be FUN again

This game should not feel like a JOB. Let me say after years of playing the Diablo franchise I must say Diablo 4 does not have the same feel game is Not fun anymore. Now before everyone says other games took years for it to get good, they are literally converting this game to have things from previous games… they could have just started with this to begin with. You cannot come out with changes and “content” from other games and brand it as new content!! It should have been like this since day one and should not have taken 4 seasons!

What’s the point in having other skills, when every season there are ONLY 1-2 builds that can-do high-end pits or high-end content. Since s4 only class that could do pit 150 solo was barb without any hacks like infinite flame shield. Since we are on that note, why is it that all your super high-end content can only be done with BUGS!!! There is grinding and then there is d4 grinding. NOTHING like making a build and finding out its b or c tier build that can’t even do your end game content… SO I guess we all just wasted our time and mats!!! how is that fair? You think everyone wants to do the same builds every season?!! Druid used to use bulwark build… YES a defensive skill that slapped to do high end content at the time but it was bugged. Seems like whenever there is a 'bugged " build we have the MOST fun!

Why can’t all classes utilize each skill? Now I’m not saying all skills need to be s tier but they should be able to clear all content, so that we are having fun and not wasting time MW and losing our mats and time in process. Nothing like flooding the market with everyone wanting the same gear, causing items to be skyrocket high in price

Seasons are meant to be played enjoy seasonal rewards, powers and try new class upgrades. Seasons are not meant to have ppl spend hundreds of hours grinding their eyeballs out trying to hit 300 paragon or again finding out all the materials they grinded and invested into a build is below A tier and can’t even do pit 100s. Some people like me do enjoy trying new builds but it’s not fun when you realize build can’t progress any further due to the resources we have in game. (damage, aspects) Its super ridiculous that veiled crystal and forgotten souls are still scarce. I’ve probably farmed billions of materials only to still be in need of them and this needs to be fixed as farming mats and watching them deplete in minutes is just horrible.

Now I’m not saying make the game easier by any means, but I think you guys should look into class skills being able to clear things and give us the tools needed to FULLY enjoy a season and its rewards. WE NEED MORE VIABLE BUILDS!! I’ve played all seasons, hit pit 150 in s4, cleared all end game content, all hardcore trophies, played all classes, hit paragon 300 before anyone says anything. This is Feedback from Fellow Sanctuary players, and I. Hope you guys read this and take some of these things into consideration

Thanks

As someone who has spent countless hours on this game since the beginning I agree with everything said. The game has literally became a “job” to get to 300. The fun has dissipated, seasonal content has been lackluster and master working to perfection is nearly impossible (especially if you like to play multiple characters each season). I don’t have all the answers, but I do know the thought of grinding to 300 again next season isn’t it.

Seriously though I think it’s time for them to act. Seeing other discussion posts def shows I’m not the only one and I think they should ACTUALLY LISTEN LOL

I do agree mats and gold sinks are to high, for normal gamers.

But what might help and is my strategy is build early when mats are cheap espicially on alt that unless you cleared you rewards from the seasonal track caches pushing idk.

But still, you can make a blue print with rare items and tempering, then print ontop to work out aspects, at this point I know what I am going for, and I play and only masterwork gear that is worth it. But I push as hard as possible before that point anyway.

I still run out of gold and boss mats , but I have a working build to grind with and level up paragon, glyhs etc.

I learn more about the game and systems this way too and what is possible outside the meta.

The grind for gold and boss mats gets me every season before skills, builds and MW ever does tbh. So on that I 100% agree.

Edit-I disagree on paragon though as getting to T3 sub 300 even sub 200 is very possible, so Having a journey to break T4 without a busted build or carry isn’t that bad imo, again the other problems will break me first.

Ya I agree when I make alts kind of only thing that helps is the facts u get rewards for the alts. I do every class everyone season and found that is very helpful. I come into every season knowing to salvage because I always know I’ll run out of mats before gold lol Plus i love to yellow MW everything

Ya think the paragon 300 this season was very much overboard XP wise, not sure how feel about paragons right now but XP wise think that was a little ridiculous. I finished all content before hitting Paragon 300 so the last grind was just boring to me

Thry went over the roof with all the multipliers , most legendary powers feels like sets , and they cant balance it. Flat numbers are way easier to balance and way easier for ppl to understand (not like the game has any complexity)

They need to reevaluate the whole thing! They need to actually play the builds, play with the aspects and damage multipliers and see how it fairs against TOP END GAME. You would think they could give themselves BIS gear and try content against top end game and adjust

I read an article several years ago that suggests games like Diablo “are” like a job and appeal to those with career ambitions. In real life a career takes decades of hard work to achieve the big payoff but Diablo the payoff is much sooner. Particularly if one is just starting out on the career path and working their way up from the relative bottom games like Diablo reinforce the idea that hard work pays off.

While I agree with this sentiment, I am fairly sure they had no choice in the matter. People above them within the company wanted D4’s earnings on the books in a timely fashion. They knew people would buy it even if it was subpar, and that’s exactly what happened. $1B+ to sweeten the pot for Microsoft’s acquisition.

The developers did what they were told and now they have to fix it. They’re in a pretty unenviable position, and I’d be shocked if there wasn’t significant turnover internally as a result.

D4 bad. POE2 gud. simple.

Ya also they really need to step up their game with the forgotten souls and veiled crystal. No lie I probably farmed close to a bil plus of each material and still running out! that kills the game entirely having to re-farm mats over and over again. I get there is some farming to be done but it should not cost 500 crystals first 4 ranks and reset on mw plus what 50 forgotten souls? hope they really fix these things

Post is on the wrong forum -if its not on X or twitter - they will never see it as they rarely respond to anything here. But I agree with most of what you said - Im about done with this season and Im only at paragon 200 … Just boring to keep grinding and never finding anything to upgrade my build - just lacking in anything FUN after hitting max level really…

Totally agree, honestly don’t have X or id repost on there. You think i just post on their main X page?

What if from 270-300 every 10 paragon you gain 10% damage? Sounds good to me. I don’t think anyone would not like this.

Imagine if it was fun that kept you playing instead of so many things designed to slow you down.

Farm for A to improve B. Grind for C to acess D. Everything you want to do is gated behind something you don’t enjoy.

A fun system would allow you to farm for everything you need by doing what you enjoy most, and whatever you enjoy most would have enough depth to keep you invested.

The biggest barrier to fun is the random number generator. If I need groceries, and go outside to see a random vehicle, anything from a foot-powered scooter to a porsche, I’d be, “um, okay…” But then I find it has anything from an empy tank to a full tank, and I start getting nervous. Then, I find the store is now a random distance from the house, and frustrations start adding up. Finally, I walk in and see random crap on the shelves and I’ve had it.

The thing Blizzard doesn’t seem to realize is that this amount of randomness puts people off in droves. Now, I’m not saying everything in the game needs to be predicatable, but some degree of direct choice and targeting goes a long way for retention numbers. More than any disparity in performance among the classes, or any amount of bugs, this (in my opinion) is the most important thing to address, whether it’s targeted drops, tempers, or masterworking.

The problem is they took randomness to the extreme, though this could be a lack of coordination between teams, ending up with everyone having the same idea. The entire game is based on RNG, which isn’t realistic. For example, the blacksmith is capable of masterworking. Their knowledge of gear is supposed to be unsurpassed. Yet, the results of tempering, something that must happen before masterworking can begin, is completely random? I don’t buy that. If I hire a carpenter to renovate my house and they inform me the results will be random, I’m firing their butt.

Some degree of randomness is legitimate. That’s a given. But not everything. Blizzard needs to learn this.
