Hit wall at level 31

Honestly, it is really sucking. I was enjoying the game, and then I can’t get any drops within 5 levels of me, and now I can’t take on the elites. I specced out using the corpse explosion strategy exactly, so I know the build isn’t bad.
I am trying to kill the end guys in the dungeons to hopefully get at least one piece of gear somewhere near my level.
My Army of the Dead barely dents the guys.
I am not sure what Blizzard intends for me to do here.

welcome to the terrible loot drops club buddy

summon and corpse explotion are the weakest of the necro builds right now.

bone spear is the s tier necro build.

i would respect to that until the buff the other stuff.

Game’s the game. With loot being bloated with tons of useless stats and items dropping below your level, it’s very easy to fall behind the monsters. Best bet to get unstuck is to respec or start all over again (I wish this was a joke)

upgraded all your items? added aspects to them already? if you say yes i know youre lying

so do that and you wont have an issue

Wait until you’re level 35 or so, and the gear dropping in a stronghold (monsters 2 level above you) are 8 levels below you.

I tried that one at low level.

Felt horrible to play.

Maybe it is better at higher levels with proper aspects and gear.

there is no point in upgrading items at lvl 31, and no aspects will really help a summon necro be less bad, it is what it is.

Don’t follow meta builds and experiment for yourself.

That calculator is my suggestion.

Tho Sever might do more dmg than Blight at low levels.

As i said, experiment a bit

the point to upgrading them is to get past the wall thats why the function is available in game

the mats are a literal pittance, just use them…

my little minion necro is only 20 but i cannot imagine there being no aspects available for them. what about something that boosts blight, skellies, attack speeds, etc? doesnt that affect the minions?

I don’t know why you want to be a negative nancy about Summoner necro so much.

It is fine in low levels.

My kill of Astaroth at level 44, It works perfectly well at low level

the build is just the weakest by far in the game.

its like trying to do whirlwind barb early on, you will just always run out of fury, there is nothing you can do about before you get all the legendaries and aspects, etc.

the game just came out so its not balanced yet, as i said, better to respec.

Not everyone is interested in experimenting with builds. Most people just want to play. That’s why build sites are so popular.

Build sites are often based around certain legendaries or if you have a specific amount of points.

It can be misleading

Kinda true. They’ve gotten better about providing leveling builds. Maxroll does, I know.

Sometimes I like digging into the numbers and figuring out the synergies. Sometimes I just wanna play. When it’s the latter, I go to the sites. I rarely follow the builds to the letter anyway, usually treating them as a guideline instead of a blueprint (if that makes sense).

This is how i found out back in the early levels, that for my build blight or sever is better due to everything for me is shadow / darkness damage

level 30 to 35 is when imo the cracks of the game start to show.
Leveling takes why to long first and foremost
Worst of all though, the issue of scaling mobs becomes very clear, because now from 30 to 50, enjoy gear basically meaning nothing, because you could get fully upgraded gear, and it does not make the experience any differnt, you dont kill things faster, you dont survive better, you just…do what you were doing 10 levels ago.

At least from level 1 to 30 there was a sense of character progression because you were unlocking abilities, and powers that you activlly got to see do things. From 30 onward, you just do the exact same thing, until you hit max level then you grind out gear.

Welcome to hell…ironically.

Well, i dono how it was for people who just rushed story.

But as you can see in the video i linked above, i was 44 by the time i got to Astaroth, which is pretty early in the story.

I just ran around fractured peaks and i had no problems whatsoever.

Eventually i just had to force myself to not do side stuff and focus yellow quests.

Im level 47 and i just got to the swamp zone. How you go about doing it is not the issue, its the fact the leveling is way to grindy even for a diablo game.

Diablo has always been about just getting to max level so you can begin the long slog of getting BIS gear to do higher and higher difficulty content. THe problem is the leveling in the game right now is just an exercise in repetition. Its painful to do because all the gear you get from 30 to 50, is basically garbage, and it doesn ot improve your ability to play the game, or kill mob, because everything scales with your level, so you have to deal with about 15-20 levels of pure agony and mind numbing boredom.

Its not about having problems, in fact, thats actually the problem. The game has no progression in it from about lvl 30 to 50, because everything scales, you gear means nothing and your just fishing for 725+ gear or trying to grind up to 50 to get 725ish gear to drop, because anygear thats not base 700+ is basically worthless and just a means to an end.

Maybe i did something different then, I dono?

But i felt like after like 35-40 i was doing so much damage and took so little damage.

Every boss one try and Barely any damage taken, just walk through the whole thing.

Played on WT2 all the way through
