Hit Level 80. What's the point of going further?

So, I hit level 80 through perseverance due to no real reason to do it. I could have called it quits at level 70 but I wanted to open world boss caches that are for some reason level locked to 10 levels above the appropriate level to engage the boss.

Why would I level this toon to lv100?

What is the point of these extra 20 levels?

What is the reward?

What is there to do that I have not done 1000000 times before?

Why is the world boss cache 10 levels above the correct level?

Having fun?

If you don’t, then there is none. That’s the case with every activity in any game, they make only sense if you enjoy them. If you don’t then, there is - indeed - no point.

For fun, or to chase those GG unique items.

But this is D4, soooooo yeah probably just stop playing.

I stoped at 70. Leveling isnt fun when it takes ages (a similar issue PoE is having but there it start to ramp after level 90 and not 50).

Eventually there will be more content and then a 100 lvl char will be ready for it.
Atm at lvl 80 you may wanna level up glyphs to max instead of just mindless xp grind

SAdly this is the case atm. There is no character progression when you have gotten all the ancestrals etc.

do u even glyph bro?

My experience is that the drops don’t improve at all if you farm higher content. A tier 21 dungeon will drop the same ancestral items a tier 60 dungeon drops.

This uniformity and the level scaling together are contradicting mechanics in my opinion. As soon as you find some proper ancestrals and you roll a stat and upgrade them, it is virtually impossbile to get a better item, because upgrading is too overpowered. The reason for it in my opinion is to hide certain problems with itemization.

Sure, there are chase items like uniques but apart from the ultrarares, you find them all until level 70, let alone 80.

The biggest issue is at level 80 in my opinion that your gear cannot really improve by farming, or at least the upgrades are unreasonably rare and costly to make. Your only way of keeping up with the level scaling is the paragon system, which is… fun at first sight but not keeping me play the game in the long run. Getting a paragon point after every 10 dungeon is not really feeling that rewarding. Or seem like I am progressing.

Nightmare sigils are harder than the regular content yet the droprate is the same, the xp is the same, the only incentive is to level up gylphs. It seems like for me that in the endgame the core gameplay gets divided up and timegates are introduced between them, to make leveling slower. The devs’ reason for that I am afraid is to buy time to make an actual endgame.

There is no point in leveling higher than 70 or maybe 75 ---- there is no better gear to be had -

yes there is paragon points - but to be fair +5 dex → oh +5 willpower — wohooo +5 int and OHM Y GOSH GOLDEN NODE!!! +100 Armor ---- it.is.not.fun.

You cant be lvl 80 without all used glyphs above 15, it takes that many nm dungs. Unless you level in normal dungeons ofcourse.

at level 90/91, all world mobs can drop all items according to that one dude.

Then 100 for uber lilith?

I guess that’s about it since you should be done gearing by the 80’s unless bad luck/changing builds a lot.

or better yet, what’s the point in playing games at all?

you pay for them, yet you get bored and stop playing in the end.

so I ask you again, why pay for something if you know you’ll someday quit it?

jeez… xd

in all seriousness, the point is, you min/max your char. You set yourself a goal to achieve. If you manage to do it, you either move onto next class, or move onto next game till new content drops.

I think he was refering to the ultrarares like harlequin crest

I could only laugh when I opened my three world boss caches at level 80 and got sacred legendaries from each one. Ridiculous.

Fun? Some of you are basically empty computers just need external programming all the time don’t you?

You’re missing the major point I believe. This game has only been out for 1-2 weeks depending on your disposable income. The fact that so many people are already bored and done is a HUGE issue in an arpg. It just shows poor development direction.

Of course everyone gets tired of a game at some point but it shouldn’t be this soon. Especially when end game was promoted by the team.

You just get paragon, maybe some new gear. There is no point currently.

Seasons you start over at level 1. That is their content, making you keep starting over.

If your 80 and got prefect rolled gear and leveled most of your glyphs your basically done man. I say most people can be finished by 70
