Blizzard needs someone who knows how to design fun play that is challenging without one shotting players. Oh, and not being disconnected every time you TP. I know that Blizzards only priority is money, being this uncaring about the players when they release will cost them later. the next expansion and Diablo 5 are not even close to my wish list.
Oh, You mean those cheap shot type mehcanics? I have grumbled plenty of times about those.
Never been disconnected during Teleport, much less every time.
Reserving opinion on the other as they need to figure out direction after hot Rod left. It’s going to take time regardless to implement that level of change.
i did have a very serious issue with game crashing about 90% of the time when i used a town portal, however this hasn’t happened to me since week one of the season.
I did get 3 CTD yesterday with “Ran out of memory” Unclear if this is a game bug or user error as i did have photoshop, a great horde of browser tabs, discord and obs all running, so i might have legit run out of ram, but i often have all that going on with d4 and other games without issue so iono.
You want Brent Gibson for that, he’s the director of D4. Rod was just the GM of the franchise as a whole. Two completely different jobs when it comes to the direction of D4. One actually steers the ship, the other just signs off on it and makes sure they’re selling their goods at each port.
You mean like John Yang?
I’m encouraged by what i see at the moment… hopefully what we hear next Thursday points to improvements and a continuance in this direction.
You need that i-win button you can click for $5 and upon clicking it you’ve completed everything in the season. You don’t even have to log in; it can be done on the account page. Enjoy! You’re a true champion and have mastered the challenge.
Funny but not really fair… at least not in the context of this thread. Here OP says nothing about wanting the game to be easier. I’m seeing two distinct thoughts in OP post that are both relevant.
-
D4 team has a lot of people with very little ARPG experience (some even with little or no game experience)
-
they have QA issues
(EDIT-Caveat) - I’m reading the one shot complaint as expressing dissatisfaction with a lack of interesting mechanics to introduce difficulty and thereby leaning solely on one-shots. if I’m mistaken and they just think one shots should not be in the game at all , well then Get good op!
I don’t think even Blizzard or the D4 team would dispute this. The lack of experience does not equate to a lack of talent or passion, there could be ARPG super devs waiting to bloom on this team. When you have to learn everything from scratch its a slow and error prone process. A few strategic hires of ARPG veterans could have a significant impact for the better!
RE the QA, it is somewhat inherent in any large software system. even more so in things that are online even more so in games, even more so when you have ,seasonal and eternal realms and different expansions and seasons where some changes are global and some only go to a subset of environments. This is not to excuse or accept the QA problems, but simply to acknowledge that this is not a simple feat. The recent Adam Jackson interview on Pure Diablo talks a bit about this.
These are real issues and wanting them addressed does not warrant belittling of someone expressing that it should be Like i said above I’m encouraged, but pretending there are not issues has never worked in any situation in a way that gets them fixed
you could always be a better gamer and solve this by either moving out of one shots or if that’s not your bag, build a better character that doesn’t die to one shots.
I personally don’t like moving out of stuff, because im lazy, so I use my tired old brain and build better chars.
If you want to climb pits competitively (over pit 100) then you need to get used to moving out of one shots. But if you are happy with deleting T4 and completing pit 100, you can easily do that by just making a stronger char that doesn’t get 1 shot.
This is a game knowledge and build issue, not a designer issue.
That has been an issue since forever. I had that happen to me during season 2-3-4, game is just horrible in all ways possible except for the game engine itself and graphics, but that doesn’t mean much when every other aspect of the game is a joke. They don’t care about the game, nor the players, all they legitimetly care about is money, they have zero passion for games, they’re just a bunch of corporate npcs milking blizzards/Diablo name for as long as they can with minimal to zero effort put in the game except skins in the shop. They have an insane budget, devs, and you name it yet each season has less changes/fixes/content than any other relevant aRPG. Oh, and the campfires? It’s so scripted it’s hilarious and sad at the same time. And those Q&A questions? Lmao, so carefully handpicked, they dont pick any relevant questions at all, probably cus its questions written by themselves.
If you are getting one shot its because your character isnt strong enough.
Are you always a victim?
Yeah i think you are lumping a whole lot of different people into “They” there.
i have a passionate distaste for what corpo thinking has done to this franchise, starting with Davidson’s sale of Blizzard, right through to bobby “F players and the devs, give me money!” kotik, but i think it is unfair to characterize everyone working on this game in this way.
Yes they. Cause they do whatever the higher ups tell them to do. It’s they themselves who decided to work for bli$$ard.
hmm i now have feelings of regret for defending your post… oh well we all make mistakes I suppose
Well done sir! /golfclap
It’s ok to not share opinions, I forgive you.
It just breaks my heart to know what we COULD have had had Blizzard North still been an entity and worked on this game.
That would take thought and effort.
That alone ensures it will never happen.
