it seems i cant include images here but i got a lvl804 deathless visage thats actually worse than my current lvl 692 one
I mean WTH? You work hard to get higher level loot only to find out some of its stats are actually worse?
Whats the logic behind that?

well it’s affix range
your power level 804 deathless visage could have potentially higher affixes
but you had a low rolled one hence the power lv 692 is higher (which might have been a high roll one)
it all depends on the affixes range and the roll you end up with.
let’s say affix range for something is at 20 to 35 for an item power 700 and at 30 to 45 for the item power lv 800
if it rolled 35 as a power lv 700 and 30 as a item power lv 800
the first will have a better roll despite the power level difference
it’s a low vs high roll situation.

Man thats frustrating lol. I’ve been trying to get that specific gear for more than a month.
When i get it its a low roll…
Yeah all my higher level uniques almost always drop with worse rolled stats.
I think once I got a higher level with better stats and that is my current Razorplate.
Right, And with that said higher gear scores should have a higher minimum stat roll. That’s just my opinion.

it does.
it’s just that the lowest is still lower than the highest of the previous one.
(look at the example in my post)
that being said, there’s usually , outside of weapons (and armor stat), not much difference between power lv 700 and 800; atleast not THAT much that even the lowest roll would be better than the highest roll of the previous tier
Yeah, I noticed this with weapons which seems right. But why can’t it be the same with all gear? I’m no expert gamer so maybe I’m not thinking about this right.
not really you aren’t thinking it wrong or right or anything, it’s just that currently it’s not the case.
but yes usually it should be more of the time the case than it is currently yes i do agree.
i don’t think it’s the case for weapon either actually afixes wise
it’s just that when it comes to weapon we mostly look at it’s DPS since it’s the most important thing in it : the priority.
even if the power 800 weapon has less critical damage % than the power 700 one, the power 800 one will be by far better still due to the DPS difference.
when it comes to the rest (helm, gloves , boots etc…) the main stat (armor) isn’t that important so we tend to look at affixes more on them : since 20 point in armor is less important than let’s say : an extra 5% critical hit chance.
i even sometime tend to equip sacred over ancestral on amulet or gloves depending on stats…for a long while simply because i was luckier with a sacred and that i value more the affixes than the extra 50 armor points.
lol Yep, That’s what i do. Well perhaps it’s really a matter of me getting used to how this game rolls it’s numbers in comparison to other games like D3.
the odd thing is that the 804 version of the equipment seems to have high initial status, but very low increase per upgrade, resulting in an overall inferior gear.
