Hey everyone, what are your opinions on Blizz adding more levels past 100 on Diablo 4?

Hello everyone, I would like to get everybody’s opinion about an idea I had regarding Diablo 4. My idea is that Blizz could add 100 additional levels to our characters so that XP is meaningful past level 100. Those levels can be called anything really. It is a basic concept providing players who achieve level 100 very early in any given season a reason to want to continue to earn massive amounts of XP / give any player already 100 more motivation to continue playing. I was thinking these 100 additional character levels in their entirety should require 5050x the amount of time that it takes an average player to reach level 100. As to not make these extra levels too rewarding so that the people who play this game very casually due to choice (or not) do not feel they need these extra levels to possibly solo any content in the game, I propose that each level give 1 paragon point or something similar in power or make a completely new rewards system for those new levels specifically. It is my belief / want for the game that these extra levels will not allow for more difficult content to be completed solely based on these power bonuses, these should just be small buffs compared to the power already gained thus far. Also these new levels should carry over to other characters in the seasonal and eternal realms. This would make leveling new characters yourself or even with others just a bit quicker and easier and could provide the game going forward with potential time sink. All XP gained on a seasonal character will carry over to the eternal realm and eventually add up to the extra 100 levels for those that can/want to put the time in. A good starting point for the actual amount of XP required would be: level 1-100 XP exact amount x the # of the level; level 100 being level 1-100 XP exact amount x100. These levels are meant to be a small reward for playing the game more. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions they would like to share on this idea?

TLDR. No lv 100 is fine. Maybe nerf a bit of th3 exp to get to 100 so it takes longer than 20 hours.

would be nice to have post 100 progression especially with ladders coming soon.

otherwise its only gonna be about doing 100nmd as fast as possible and nothing else.

*keep in mind they decided to represent the casual gamer dads though… so “infinite” progression is probably not a good idea to them.

wall of words hurt my head.

level 100 is fine, this isnt WoW where you play the same toon forever and need to creep level. this is an arpg with seasons new higher level would be counterintuitive

Nope, never. 100 levels is enough. You rather make a new toon and start over than play beyond 100.

Personally, without significant additional content I wouldn’t find it that interesting to basically keep doing the same thing, just for levels, and a few more items. I may do it for a few more levels, but I will probably stop soon after 100, till next season.

All levels past 100 should be equal in xp to level 100.

And each level after that awards 5 stat points.

That’s it. 100 more levels is 500 more in stats.

I would be surprised if we don’t go to 110 or 120 with the expansion. The expansions are where they will raise the cap.
You are not going to get a D3-like paragon system.
They will however find ways to increase your power past level 100, just like what they are experimenting on next month with the abattoir of Zir and the unique glyph.

The only question is when. It will happen.
D3 went 60-65, 65-70, then paragon infinite. D4 will follow.

Honestly I think 100 is too many off the bat. D3 had a nice setup with paragon points.

I agree. They could have stopped at 80 and then 20 paragon levels. Each expack can add 5 max levels and 10-20 paragon levels. Then they could have better / toned down paragon boards

I woudln’t mind playing past 100. I really enjoy my character and I don’t want to just start over once I reach 100.

I think adding more character levels is fine, as long as players are satisfied with that and are not expecting more content.

I don’t see how it could affect me negatively at all unless they whine for more challenging content before the devs work on more pressing issues that are more important, such as improving itemization. The devs have been making improvements on the later, but it still takes me more time to sift the wheat from the chafe than actually playing the game.

Yeah, I know that getting more paragon points is more important, which the level 100’s know. What do I stand to lose by standing in their way?

Hell to the no. Nevah.

Would rather just have the talent trees (twigs) expanded with more points granted per level.
Part of a seasonal hook is having a clean slate and adding more levels would be annoying, looking at the long term effects it would have.

But we have way more important stuff to look at before then, namely itemization being extremely poorly thought out, and a massive pile of performance and gameplay bugs that crop up constantly. Opening my inventory shouldn’t nearly crash my computer, for starters.

It’s 100% happening with each expansion release.

and then after you have gotten those xtra 100 levels in a couple of days you will want another 100 levels to complete in a week and then you are turning it into D3 with the unlimited Paragon levels and making it ridiculously easy
and you also have to deal with the people complaining because it takes too long to get those levels

After lvl 100 the XP-Bar should continue doing its work but instead providing new levels and power you should receive crafting materials or summoning parts etc… for each full progression bar.

Levels doesn’t matter at this time. It’s not like we’re getting more points to add into existing statistical increase. After I reach level 150, I’ll be doing 10% more damage than I was doing at level 80. Clear time for NMD will be exactly the same as it is currently. All because blizzard is going to adjust monster’s HP accordingly just to slow the player down. If there’s a method to get specific affix on any piece of gear because of more levels, then yeah sure go for it.

its funny when people claim its 100% happening when they have no knowledge regarding whether its happening. also funny they dont take in to account the seasonal game design. they arent going to have 3 month seasons and be expecting players to level to 110, 120, 130…etc. so considering this game is designed completely around the 3month seasonal gameplay i would not hold my breath expecting any levels beyond 100
