May sound like a strange request but I’m really curious to see what’s your idea, your vision on how each class should work and perform in a lvl 100 nightmare dungeon.
I’m particularly interested in barbarian and sorcerer, your nerf hammer hit those particularly hard, many people were complaining before the patch about the impossibility or, at least, extreme difficulty to reach certain milestones, now feels like it’s impossible.
It would be great to see what’s possible to achieve with the tools at our disposal from the minds that created them, most of us can’t figure out how to get there without the “broken buiilds” that you nerfed so heavily.
You claimed that this Diablo could be played “our way” but apparently only certain specific ways are viable for high level content, ways that you nerfed or completely devastated (depends on the class), it would be nice to see how all this works in your internal testing.
Thank you for the attention if you will ever read.
Their testing is probably.
- Creater character
- Kill 4-5 mobs
- Get to Kyo
- Testing over
I want to believe they actually tested them all the way through.
They nerfed barb and sorc to the ground, no one seems to wrap their head around how to make them work properly in endgame, seeing a gameplay of their internal testing on a 100 NM will give us an idea on how we are supposed to face those challenges, because before a patch like the one we got they surely tested them that deep… right?
“I need to speak to the manager!”

Step 1: roll .
Step 2: apply nerf % based on roll.
Step 3: deploy update
Step 4: Prepare statement on how it’s supported by back end data and necessary for the long term health of the game.
Step 5: Let the White Knights run damage control for free.
The truth is they probably don’t want anyone even close to Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons, because there isn’t going to be any other content for a very long time. That’s why we’ve seen such heavy nerfs to both damage and defenses.
I think you’d be bored looking at a video of someone playing around in an Excel spreadsheet. Clearly that’s their game “testing” method.
We took what our best devs could complete, and we doubled it.
They don’t really test their games after launch.
They look at player data and make adjustments according to the metrics they want to hit. This is how they’ve operated for the last decade at blizzard.
BUT it’s a terrible way to develop and balance and ARPG.
You think you want to see that, but you don’t.
Blizzard doesn’t do much internal testing. They have some high-level players but the likes of Mike Ybarra, who pushes keys in WoW to 3K rating when he’s playing, aren’t on the testing team.
Over on the WoW side, most of their test data is gathered on PTR and only through relatively low keys and heroic raid. They have released a couple mythic raids with serious bugs and screwed over RTWF teams with hotfixes.
When D3 was released they said they internally tested Inferno and then made it considerably harder. In D4 most of the real data they would have gathered was only through level 25.
I am pretty sure the testing is when you log in with that class.
Just start recording when you log in and there’s your video.
Paying actual gamer testers to play 100s of hours would eat into the shareholder dividends too much.
You’re such a white knight.
The only testing is asking interns to watch streamers so we can prevent whatever they do.
Who needs to play the game when you’ve got spreadsheets of data.
I’m guessing they have several internal test builds, and the one that’s furthest ahead is likely 2 seasons ahead by now. Probably looks nothing like what we have now live.
this would be funny if it weren’t so sadly accurate
we are the testers. have you noticed the big changes from the kfc beta to the stress test? that was like 1 month before release and they made huge balance changes. and on release another huge balance change. and now another.
we are currently beta testing
