Half the posts in trade for Duriel, Malphas mats etc ask you to whisper them, which is cool. Then these dudes are ballsy enough to give prices in USD in whispers, or they ask to add them on discord which is also obvious as hell. I report and nothing seems to happen because your automated system is trash.

as long as uber mat stay tradeable and that people can join run without paying their own mat it’ll happen.

It is impossible to stop it. They surely ban a few from time to time, but it is impossible to ban them all.
Unless all trading is done through some internal system that ensures anonymity.
(I like the Runescape system BTW: The “Grand Exchange”. Only disadvantage: stock type mechanics)
I think the problem is the endgame. Helltides are just plain boring. Do those to fight a boss to fight another boss to a a very very slim chance at an uber. I’m not a dev but to me that’s just bad game design. I personally think alot of choices made with the game were really bad but in saying that theres some good ones too. For me this is a middle of the road game. If you can get it on sale, great. It’s not worth the full price at the moment. I will say that the recent campfire chat was pretty good. Hopefully they can keep it up. I mean i don’t want this to be a W and the next 2 or 3 updates down the road are L’s. I think being an online always live service game is a massive L. Give us either a full on MMO or let us have an offline with some online options. Just let us invite who we want to be in our games.

No company in the history of online games has solved this, because it’s too lucrative for the sellers.

It will NEVER stop until blizzard makes the mats BoP. That is the only way to stop RMT for durial.
Suppose it doesnt matter though, it will be worse next season when trading opens up.
And then this game will be PTW. Leaderboards will be a joke and players won’t be competitive in standings unless they spend X amount of money to acquire certain items quicker than it would take to farm.
Whats more of a joke than the leaderboards though is blizzard’s willingness to fix the problem. Historically, it seems they couldn’t care less.
As long as they are still making money……

Even if this where to happen, it’s not like RMT would go away. Limiting players/trade/interaction is the worse way to go about it.

They could make some progress by actually having a blue show up in trade chat and do some ban waves from ppl caught selling for $$$ and make it visible for all.

Who even cares if people RMT? You jelly your a broke bum? It doesn’t effect your gameplay other then a text line in game. You aren’t pushing any leaderboards I guarantee if your worried about RMT. I wanna trade and I don’t care who RMTs as long I can trade a good item I can’t use.

This is only going to get worse next season when just about everything is tradeable. I don’t think there is anything anyone is going to do about it. Eventually Blizzard will catch on and start selling mats themselves for real money completing the process to full pay to win. Not sure it affects me at all though, so whatever.
Hellties isn’t the most boring thing, killing Duriel and press the reset button and quickly sort your inventory for 400 times till the Uber Unique drop is the most boring part of the game. Those traders are there to lessen our burden.

RMT in trade is prevalent in many ARPG that have the ability to trade items to other players. This is nothing new and is very hard to stop. Sure its extremely easy to spot when its happening.
But are they going to start just banning players who receive “free items” when they are not trading anything back? Now you can argue that sure just look at the friends list and see how recent the person was added and go off that to justify it. But there is always going to be a way around the issue.
With the introduction of Legendary and Unique items allowed to be traded sure this would increase the RMT in trading. However I am going to be curios outside of RMT what the in game “currency” will be. D2 had HR’s and PoE has orbs. Would D4 be boss mats perhaps (since you need to do certain activities to acquire)
