Help me understand the reforge runes

So im at the gem dude, and its got the dropdown for all the reforge leg/magic/rare runes. Im not understanding this tho, to create a lum i need 3 lum???

I was scratching my head to when i Saw descroptions.
Why do i need 3 runes of same symbol to make the same rune rune what .

You trade 3 of the same runes and a nominal amount of gold for a random rune of the same rarity. There is a 15% chance it upgrades one rarity up. I managed to luck into the legendary rune I needed by spamming 3:1 crafts on my rare runes.

Exactly what GaryOak said, you’re trading 3 runes in for a random 1 and a chance for it to be of higher quality. So it does look confusing at first, but if hover over the rune it should tell you in the tooltip, you may have to right click to see the description, not sure what it’s set to by default.

I was a bit confused at first due to how unintuitive the crafting UI was, and I found the 15% chance thing by googling, as well as what they had on PTR which was much more clear.

Except it seems to be bugged. I tried it several times, always receiving the same rune. For instance, reforging WAT requires 3 WAT runes, and gives always a WAT rune in return. That cannot be intentional, must be a bug. Anyone has a different experience, when it actually works?

You can roll the same rune, yes, but I’ve gotten legendary runes by doing the 3:1 recipe.

When you reforge the runes, you will see a message saying “Crafted rune-name” near top-left of the screen and it’s always the rune you used to reforge.

However the result is not what the message says unless it happens to be the same rune. Pay attention to your inventory and you will see shine on the rune you actually receive.

UI/UX here is best… no!
