Help : Barrier mechanics stacking, vulnerability & CC

Gday!

Unable to find a relevant answer elsewhere and uncertain after testing, can anyone help elaborate on these questions?

Do barriers effectively stack? I have tried using multiple barriers on sorc (from skill use and from imprint) and the value remained the same, the exact value of the imprint. I am assuming it strips off like a layer? And if so, which layer of barrier strips first, the most recently used?

Do barriers prevent CC? I assume no, but they do prevent vulnerability being applied to mobs that have barrier, unless I’m mistaken.

Thanks in advance 8)

You have to have barriers from separate sources with separate procs in order for them to stack. So, if you have two items that state A causes B, only the highest will work; if you have two items with A causes B and C cause B, they should both work. However, they will not work at the same time. The item will not be greyed out if they work together.

What the barrier prevents depends upon the Barrier. Let’s compare Fire Shield to Ice Armor. Both will work together because they are different effects. Flame Shield states that you are immune while it is active. Immune means from everything - including CC.
However, it is not defined as a barrier but it functions similar. Ice Armor states “a barrier of ice forms…” And this proc with base life (not maximum life). So, time limit or not, when that limit is reached, the barrier is down. As such, DoT, AoE, CC effects may be blocked but only until the limit is reached.
