Is there a way I can see how much damage my character received before a death? I am not sure what happened, but my character tends to get hurt whenever a hellwyrm shows up duirng helltides. It killed me twice this season. The hellwyrm showed up and released a group of mobs like it normally does, then an instant death. I guess I need to stay away from the hellwyrm and try not to get in the middle of the mobs it releases.

Same. I had this happen alot when I wasnt so strong defensively. Always said was slain too. No idea why.
I stack defense now.
40% dmg reduction while 2 hand weapon

Druid rune shield
The Duriel pang that spawns does an earthquake mechanic before he pops out. Hard to see of course because the screen is covered in crap.
I have been paying attention to defense as well. I am playing a Defense Paladin build. I use Defiance Aura, all resistance, high armor, 15 stacks of resolves, 3% damage reduction per resolve, 22.5% damage reduction on shield, 17% damage reduction when fortified and I am always fortified. Still, an instant death if I got caught in the middle of the mobs released by the hellwyrm.
My theory is that the mobs do not have their proper hit box when they got released, so several enemies, especially elites, can overlap with each other. Then if they can reach my character, one attack from everyone perhaps is enough to one shot. I cannot think of anything else. I thought Raheir is supposed to protect me, but it did not happen at all. Just instant death.
