So blizzard you guys have made it easier for us to upgrade our gear with gold but yet made forgotten souls nearly impossible to get. 3 forgotten soul out of each chest and barely find those harvestable mines things which also give you 3. But THEN you guys thought it will be a great idea to up the cost of ancestral gear to cost 2 when enchanting. I have done quite a few helltides and normally barely walk out with like 20 in 1 hour. You say season 1 was too easy to get forgotten soul but now have made season 2 more hard to ge them. Please by god boost the forgotten souls to how they were…

I thought I’d come back and give the game a try. Lots of things are better for sure but the forgotten soul drop rate is AWFULL! If you are going to have it this unlikely to obtain you need to at least allow more then only 2 options on reroll. Itemization & RNG is still not correct IMO.
This absolutely. I have three problems with forgotten souls:
- Locked behind helltide. Not fun. Number one rule with any good game design - don’t dictate the game path for your players. Let players play how they want to play.
- Helltide’s are extremely inconvenient time gated features. Some people can’t play them AT ALL.
- I cannot upgrade or re-roll any of my gear without them and the cost doesn’t correlate with the rate you can farm these at anything short of full-time job status.
IMO - this is egregious enough it should be live tuned. Increase the rate of souls on dismantle. Decrease the rate on helltide chests. This would fix the problem for everyone…

couldn’t agree more, in WT4 and am Forgotten Soul starved! I think the solution id offer is add then to WT4 Blood Harvest chests. Boom, problem solved.
Indeed. I understand that “random” is the name of the game, but the odds of only getting a few in one entire Helltide are too big.
And grinding Helltides is seriously limited by the fact there’s always a 75’ wait between each. As a casual player, I rarely have the time to play more than one Helltide in one gaming session and perhaps it’s not even a full one.
They did well in reducing the Enchant gold cost, but pretty much offset that improvement with the new cost in Forgotten Souls. Those are like currency too, and are hard enough to ger that just 1 extra per enchant is painful.
Only Scream Hell Ore Veins drop Forgotten Souls for sure. And finding more than 2 is already a miracle. Honestly, they should show up in the map when you get close enough, like treasure goblins and some other things.
All the other options (tortured chests, and elites that come out of the ground) only give them sometimes.
In fact, tortured chests have gotten even worse recently. Aside from already being buggy (they just disappear when off the screen, rather often)… Now you have a significant chance you won’t get ANY gear out of them. Maybe I do 6 chests, and at least 2 of them provide nothing but health potions and gold with some minor ingredient (fiend rose, most likely).
So, while I wouldn’t call it BROKEN… It’s annoyingly, unnecessarily difficult. I’m not saying “all possible sources shoudl always get some Forgotten Souls.” Just, that they should increase the odds.
I couldn’t agree with you all! I think something should atleast happen with the salvaging of gear, maybe like legendaries and unique give more like 5 or so forgotten souls. Something to just make the changes help us abit more by god. It would be a miracle if this post is even looked at by the dev team anyway.
