Just spent 125 cinders on an amulet chest to get one yellow and one fiendish mat.
World bosses are not much better.

What? Helltides give the best loot cause mobs are higher than you.
You clearly have no clue how this game works.
Yes sometimes you will get bad loot. You aren’t guaranteed good loot but helltides drop the most good loot outside of nightmare dungeons and are way easier.
You also HAVE TO do helltides for upgrade mats or you gear will be trash regardless.

Hellboretide is the worse system in game. It even feels nerfed. I did run couple of helltides couple of days and I only got few soul shards or whatever if even 10 in total. It feels nerfed to ground. I am not even bothering to reroll any of my item stats because I am barely having anything. I just stick to my items I have.
Nice way to force us to do world chores, what happened to do dungeons only like in aarpg.
Helltides are a mandatory grind for forgotten souls and that’s about it.

Yes, and that is a forced chore, why are we forced to do world stuff. Why cant we just do dungeons like in an arpg. Why cant they keep this stuff in wow, we dont need a second job.

Nightmare dungeons give the best loot because the mobs are higher level and you progress your glyphs. Helltide are a complete waste of time homie.

MAUs / content engagement metrics. Makes the open world seem more alive. And it works - I see a lot of people farming for forgotten souls. Also see people doing world bosses or doing the altar of Lilith grind.
Just that you cant reroll your 1 stat in to better, if you dont have soulshards or whatever they are called. Correct me if I am wrong, but does Nightmare dungeon drop soulshards to reroll items?
If you think this, you don’t understand the game.
You need to do every helltide.

Exactly, so we are forced to do Hellboretired for re-rolling. which was nerfed, and we get like 5 to 10 shards per event.

thats where im getting my end game mats at sooo not so much of a waste of time imo.
I’d rather not enchant my gear if it requires 20 minutes of killing trash just to get one mat.
Ive never been to a world boss event and seen another player to do the world boss event. Good to know i wasnt missing out on anything though…
helltide is crap, weren’t it for the forced crafting mats.

Yeah. So i found out there are these mysterious chests except they don’t show up on the map unless you’re close??? So a helltide started somewhere (dry steppes or whatever). I was already in it when it began so I think they don’t go longer than 45 or 50 minutes (maybe it was an hour).
So i have to wander a bit, collect 175 of ash drops to open this mysterious chest. I looked up a map to see where they were (and the map was confusing because the site still had some fog of war in their screenshots). I spent about 10 minutes going to the locations where these chests might be at.
Long story short it was the only chest I opened and I had 15 minutes left before it ended.
This is utterly dumb to hide these chests from the players. A lot of goodies came out of this chest.
And yeah, getting 1 item from these protection/weapon/ring chests really bites
